Tasmanian greyhound racing clubs are deeply integrated into the local community, actively supporting a wide array of grassroots organisations and initiatives. In Hobart, the Greyhound Racing Club has embraced local sporting clubs by hosting sporting clubs challenge nights that benefit a variety of clubs across sports ranging from AFL to netball, offering both direct sponsorships and opportunities to win additional funding. Similarly, the Launceston Club enriches the community with race days tailored for aged care residents, creating memorable social experiences. Moreover, a collective initiative across Tasmanian clubs culminated in a generous $35,220 donation to the Ronald McDonald House Charity, significantly enhancing the support facilities for families of children undergoing medical treatments in Hobart. These initiatives underline the greyhound racing industry’s dedication to nurturing and giving back to the communities they operate in, reinforcing their role as key players in building and sustaining local community spirit. This week's FAQs Q: Hey JB, what's this Roll-A-Thon thing you keep posting about ? A: It's our biggest corporate fundraising event of the year. Q: Oh right, when and where is that then ? A: It's on Thursday 1st August at Sydney's Allianz Stadium. Q: And how long does it go for ? A: We start at 10am and roll for 4 hours until 2pm. Q: Amazing, how does it work ? A: Each team has a wheelchair that they have to propel around the stadium concourse on a tag-team basis. Each person can do a lap or two and then hand over to the next roller to do their laps. Q: Sounds great, and what happens when I'm not rolling ? A: You can enjoy the tunes at the DJ booth / dance floor, play some fun games with rollers from other firms, be amazed by our roving magician and soak up the atmosphere with a drink and some food from the Merivale team. Q: Incredible, can we dress up and raise funds as well ? A: Absolutely, dressing up is positively encouraged and any fundraising is very, very welcome indeed. Q: Brilliant, one last question.. How do we win ? A: Win ? LOL, it's a fundraiser.. But yeah, course you can win. There's a GPS tracker on each chair to record time and distance travelled, so we'll know exactly who's been putting the laps in 😉 Q: Sweet, how do we get involved ? A: Easy.. Just head to https://lnkd.in/gpiAehuw to register, create a team and invite your mates. Really couldn't be simpler, but let me know if you have any other questions. #rollathon #wheelchairsports #competitivefundraising

Friendly Reminder! We're still asking for tennis shoe donations. Please leave them in the blue box in front of the lighthouse. As the weather grows cold, people need shoes to keep their feet warm. Tennis shoes are preferred because they’re easy for walking around. All sizes are needed—men, women, and children. Every pair counts! Please share this post to help spread the word! #donate #spreadtheword

In addition to running my own PR consulting firm, I have also been the GM of a non-profit travel baseball program - created in NYC six years ago to provide opportunities for all kids - regardless of economic status. Every year, the East River Sharks baseball program provides scholarships to kids from various parts of NYC who can't afford the cost of joining a travel baseball team. Many of our coaches are volunteers, and we rely on donations to keep the organization running and the kids on the field! Currently 70% of our players are on scholarship! This week, for 4 days only, we are raising money for our non-profit baseball program the East River Sharks! It is weird to post this on LI, but it is part of my world of work, and part of giving back. If you are corporation, we would love your sponsorship if you are looking for a worthy cause. Or if you just want some popcorn and want to send a quick donation (by the way the popcorn is awesome), then click the link below! We are using the funds to create two new younger teams as many of our players are now in high school and college. Need more convincing about how you can help... consider this... 2 of our players have gone to the show (SF Giants and AZ Diamondbacks) 30 of our players over the last 6 years are now playing in college. And, there are more players out there to help! #nonprofits #nonprofit #baseball #youthempowerment #youthsports https://lnkd.in/eBb6gphK
