We spent a long week in three countries, visiting four cities and meeting with eight suppliers in Asia. At the heart of the silicon industry in Hsinchu, Taiwan, we commenced our trip with meetings at Mediatek, Realtek, and TSMC. Particularly, the showroom at TSMC was amazing; it provided insight into how they became the most important fab in this industry. Alongside the silicon vendors, we met with our partners Arcadyan, Askey, and WNC in Taiwan. Afterward, we visited a brand-new factory in Vietnam, which left no wish unfulfilled given the opportunity to build such a place from scratch. The complete digital twin of the factory was outstanding. Vietnam, in fact, reminded me of my first time in China approximately 20 years ago. From Vietnam, we traveled to China for another factory audit to witness our new products being produced for the first time. It was a gratifying experience to hold these devices in our hands for the first time. Concluding the trip in Shenzhen, my old "hometown," provided an extraordinary experience with a self-driving car and the new showroom and flagship store of Huawei. In China, cars are now sold like consumer electronic goods, akin to smartphones. The EV cars are on a different level; decisions are not just about a cup holder for an additional €80, but rather about whether a fridge can fit a full-size or piccolo bottle of champagne. We have once again realized that partnerships are crucial to success. It's not merely about short-term cooperation but about fostering long-term relationships that yield mutual benefits. Whether it's the opportunity to exchange knowledge, or collaborate on innovative projects, good partnerships enhance our global visibility. Last but not least, China has shown me, after some absence, that it is poised to become a leader in many aspects, from design, lifestyle to technology, driven by its 1.4 billion individuals.
