Tomorrow at 10:00am, HB 1283, a bill on End-Of-Life options will be heard by the NH House Judiciary committee. I wanted to take an opportunity to share with you that the National Council on Disability, the independent federal agency that reports directly to the President and Congress is unequivocal on this issue: physician-assisted suicide laws represent an inherent harm and danger to people with disabilities. The research is crystal clear. The NCD’s key recommendation to state initiatives: States should not legalize any form of assisted suicide. NCD and all national prominent disability organizations are unilaterally opposed to these initiatives. They see the dangers are, in part, rooted in ableist misconceptions and stigmas about life with a disability which are intrinsic to the language used to pass these slippery slope bills. No national disability organization supports any movement toward physician-assisted suicide. #DisabilityHealthEquity #DisabilityEquityJustice #NotDeadYet #HealthEquityforAll Please consider following these steps using the calendar sign-in form on the general court website, click here: https://lnkd.in/eF6Q8ngk 1.
