Students almost always find the English verb system complicated and ‘alien’. And grammar explanations really don’t help. But there is a solution! With our students we build a visual model of the verb system and then explore it to talk about their everyday, familiar, personal ‘timeline’. Watch this video to see a student correcting himself and using the ‘past perfect progressive’ without ever having to name that outlandish thing.
