Exciting developments from DARPA: They successfully tested an AI-driven jet competing against a human pilot. This test involved both jets maneuvering head-to-head to test the AI's capabilities. Impressively, human pilots were ready to intervene but never had to. This marks a step forward in exploring future uses of AI in military settings, sparking important discussions on its impact and governance. This breakthrough could significantly alter how military operations are carried out, introducing both efficiency and complexity. As AI potentially reduces the need for humans in direct combat, it may reshape military strategy, training, and policy globally. How could AI in military roles transform national defense strategies? What limits should be placed on AI's decision-making power in conflict scenarios? Share your thoughts! #military #USA #DARPA #artificialintelligence #technology #smarttech

We are entering a dangerous decade and we must be able to respond at pace, reach and range so that we can fly, fight and win. To do that the RAF is working toward being more Agile and have adopted ACE (Agile Combat Employment) way of operating. By not being in the same place for long, the RAF will no doubt have readiness and logistical challenges. The USAF have employed ACE framework with the support of C3 AI to transform the way they operate. Yesterday, #DamNeckActivity hosted Vice Admiral Robert Gaucher, Commander, Submarine Forces | Commander, Submarine Force Atlantic; Commander, Allied Submarine Command. While here, VADM Gaucher was able to explore the artificial intelligence (AI) and machine learning (ML) efforts that DNA has been working. He was excited to see that this type of technology has advanced to the point that it can soon be applied and was interested to learn how quickly this could be integrated into the technology already available to the fleet. #USNavy #NAVSEA #nswcdddna #ItsInOurDNA #COMSUBFOR #COMSUBLANT #ArtificialIntelligence #MachineLearning

As part of our role in national defense, we're advancing trusted artificial intelligence capabilities for the #USmilitary. Excitement is high about emerging #AI tools, but without the right transport infrastructure, our warfighters may never benefit from them. We need to get rid of legacy architecture and upgrade to a higher bandwidth across our landmasses, says United States Marine Corps Col. Jared Voneida, DISA Pacific commander. If we don’t, we’re severely limiting our ability to leverage AI. How is your organization managing this piece to advancing AI capabilities? Let us know in the comments.

One of the many concepts and principles that was touched on at the National Defense University during my matriculation is data is indeed the new oil of this generation. Hence the reason I completed my research paper on leveraging AI for capability development.

Area Vice President - USAF, USSF, and Defense Agencies at World Wide Technology. Sales Leader focused on driving innovation and appropriate IT and Cyber Solutions to DoD to support real mission outcomes.
The DISA PACOM commander is 100% correct on the need for infrastructure upgrades to handle AI. You’ll need High Performing Architecture to take advantage of AI. If you are addressing technical debt and refreshing vulnerable technology - you need to have a Roadmap on what will be needed for you AI applications and transport.
