Resilience Renegade | Workplace Well-being Innovator | Global Speaker & Author | Performance Optimizer | CEO RBConsulting
Labor Day was born out of a workplace well-being movement. It’s true. We think of workplace well-being as this new trend, but it is rooted in generations of workers fighting for their physical, mental, and financial well-being. The first Labor Day was organized on September 5, 1882 as a walk-out to march for worker’s rights. On this Labor Day, we take a moment to reflect not just on the achievements of our workforce, but on the importance of workplace wellbeing and resilience. Do our “achievements” come at the cost of our health and vitality? How can we ensure that we are focusing on our long term sustainability and not our short term gains? Resilient teams are built not only through hard work but also through understanding and addressing the unique challenges each individual faces. By fostering a culture of empathy, flexibility, and continuous support, we empower our workforce to thrive in both their professional and personal lives. Let’s use this Labor Day as a reminder that the true strength of any organization lies in the wellbeing of its people. Investing in their resilience is investing in a brighter, more sustainable future for all. #LaborDay #WorkplaceWellbeing #ResilienceRenegade #MentalHealthMatters

Have you ever noticed how, when the British summer finally arrives (well, it IS July), instead of relaxing, everyone seems more stressed? According to Gallup (1) 85% of employees are not engaged at work. Even with the sunshine, many people are feeling more burned out than ever. With stretched resources due to annual leave, childcare challenges during school holidays, and the pressure to perform despite the holiday season, it's no wonder stress levels are high! What if we could create a workplace where summer means more than just a few days off, with the pre-holiday chaos and post-holiday blues? A place where everyone feels balanced, supported, and genuinely excited to be part of the team and where a culture of celebrating downtime and self-care is the norm. Where wellbeing is more than just a buzzword, and values are lived, not laminated. I want to hear from you – how are you managing these challenges, and what best practices are you implementing to support employee wellbeing during the summer months? Please share your thoughts in the comments below. Let's brainstorm and make this summer a turning point for workplace wellbeing. Reference: (1) https://lnkd.in/ehbCASqR
