Did you ever hear about the "paradox of choice"?…
The paradox of choice suggests that a lot of options actually require more effort to choose and can leave us feeling unsatisfied with our choices.
That was me in 2022, drowning in options for my economics internship.
Marketing seemed like a good fit, so I applied for a #BusinessDevelopmentRepresentative role at EIMS.
The job posting mentioned “marketing”, so I was like… why not? (plus, a good salary doesn't hurt either!).
🤯 However, big plot twist
The interviewer hit me with the “What do you think about sales?” question.
Sales? Me? I always thought salespeople were...well, a little pushy.
But with limited options, I took a leap of faith, remembering "Everything in this world is based on #sales” (wise words, right?).
🎁 To my surprise!
EIMS provided amazing training, and I quickly learned B2B sales wasn't about being "snaky."
It was about finding the right solutions for customers.
If there was not a fit, we nurtured the relationship – no pressure!
This internship opened my eyes to the world of tech sales.
Fast forward – I then gained marketing experience at another company, even started my own business (which, of course, involved sales!), and lastly re-evaluated my career path.
🛡️ Tech sales, especially in #cybersecurity, struck a chord.
It's a vital, valuable part of any business, and I wanted to be a part of it.
So, here I am, back in the game and ready to climb the ladder in cybersecurity sales at Armis!
This unexpected journey has been eye-opening, and I'm excited to see where it leads.
How did you get into sales?
