Happy Independence Day! 🎉 At Disney+ Hotstar, our patriotism runs deep—especially during sports matches! We sing the national anthem with gusto and cheer so loud for Team India, you’d think we’re on the field ourselves. 😉 Seriously though, we love India to bits and celebrate it every day by bringing our A-game in entertainment. Our hearts? Always chanting "India! India!" 🧡 💙 💚 #IndependenceDay #HotstarFam #ProudlyIndian #CheerLoud #JaiHind #DisneyPlusHotstar

JioCinema (Viacom18 Media Private Limited) and Disney+ Hotstar, sincere request to analyse this simple data set: How many people switch from English #commentary to Hindi when Sanjay Manjrekar comes on air. Simple metric to decide whether he should be #commentating at all. (Thanks to JioCinema for having Bhopuri commentary along with a lot of other regional languages. Because at times when you switch to Hindi, to avoid Sanjay on English, you run the risk of finding Aakash Chopra 🤐) Two advancements that would be really great to have on #OTT: 1. An additional feed with just ground & stadium sound without commentary. 2. A feed with young passionate #commentators who aspire to commentate but obviously cannot on the big stage. Low on cost, high on freshness & maybe quality. Could bring back some of the excitement in #Cricket Commentary which has been declining rapidly, especially in India. Unfortunately some of the better ones like Ravi Shastri and Harsha Bhogle have also become complacent, probably due to lack of any real competition. #cricketanalytics #indvseng

An appreciation post for Disney+ Hotstar and the broadcasting team for enabling Indian sign language as an audio option. A brilliant step towards #inclusivity. Think of this: it's the ICC WC. Irrespective of what you do, you'll get views, ad sponsors without much effort. Yet they improve the user experience, why? Because they can! A beautiful message of "build for not just your users' needs but also their wants and even dreams that they would have never known they wanted". Sometimes, audacious yet awesome features are pushed out because 'whats the revenue angle to this?'. Perhaps not every feature needs to be doing that. Always a pleasure watching cricket on #hotstar.

Disney's $2 Billion Loss: What's Behind the Star India Deal? Disney recently reported a $2 billion loss in its Q2 2024 financial report, and here's why - They had to pay extra money for Star India, but its value dropped. This happened because they agreed to work with Reliance Industries Limited (RIL) on a new project. Star India's income went down because they didn't renew their contract with BCCI, so they made less money from sports. Also, fewer people paid for Disney+ Hotstar, so they lost even more money. Now, RIL and Viacom18 are joining forces, which means Disney has to find new ways to make money in India. But Disney's still hopeful because they have a good partnership with RIL. So, while Disney's facing some challenges in India, they're also looking for new opportunities. #news #collabration #Hotstar #Disney

Disney+ Hotstar has introduced a new feature called Data zone and I must say it is a game changer as it takes the viewing experience to a whole new level. Some of the features that I grasped: 1)Real-time ball tracking has an additional feature where you can see the name of the player who currently has the ball(best IMO). 2) Real-time match and player's stats and team formations as the game progresses. 3) Real-time 2D simulation of the field where you can see how teams interact on and off the ball. 4) Precise Shot speed and power as soon as the player shoots the ball to score. A big shoutout to Disney+ Hotstar engineering team for flawlessly implementing this. As a football fanatic, matches are now a treat to watch.

Mukesh Ambani breaks Disney’s OTT business step by step In 2021 Disney was the king of OTT business and Jio was no where. Fast forward two years, and Reliance has dethroned Disney to become the undisputed king of OTT. But first, let's rewind and look at Disney's successful journey in India Disney made its mark by acquiring key players like Hungama TV, UTV, and the Star India network, boasting 77 channels including Star Sports, Star Gold, and Star Plus. The acquisition also included Hotstar, giving Disney access to a staggering 700 million viewers. Then, in 2020, Disney merged with Hotstar, unleashing the OTT wave in India, just as the pandemic hit. Disney's icing on the cake was securing streaming rights for the IPL until 2023. However, the tide turned when Mukesh Ambani entered the scene with Jio Cinema. Ambani's masterstroke was making IPL matches free for all, capturing the attention of a whopping 500 million viewers across India – a third of the entire population. Disney+Hotstar bore the brunt, losing a staggering 23 million subscribers. But Ambani didn't stop there. He secured rights to HBO and NBCU content, further solidifying Jio's ecosystem and eclipsing Disney's standalone offerings This is how ecosystem of Jio breaks the stand alone product of Disney #disney #jio #reliance #strategy Follow Rahul Das for more

🎥 Just watched "Float" on Disney+ Hotstar, and I have to admit—it moved me to tears. 😢 In a world where standing out can seem fascinating, the reality for those who do is often challenging. It takes immense courage to embrace your uniqueness and even more to inspire others to do the same when society tends to resist divergence. 🚀 Media and marketing plays a crucial role in shining a light on these disparities, helping us understand and empathize with different experiences. By showcasing stories that highlight the beauty of diversity, we can foster a more inclusive and accepting world. 🌎 "Normal" is subjective—what's normal for me might not be for you. Let’s break away from stereotypes and appreciate everyone for who they truly are. 🌟 Share your favorite movies or works of art that capture the essence of humanity in the comments below! 🎬🎨 #StorytellingPower #MarketingForChange #DiversityInMedia #InclusionMatters #CelebrateDifferences #EmpathyThroughArt #BreakTheNorm

Jio and Disney+ Hotstar. Disney+ Hotstar, and Jio Cinema will be merged into one OTT platform. Reliance will acquire a major stake in Disney+ Hotstar at the end of this month, and this platform will be merged. I know many of us sports enthusiasts have been hearing about this news for a long time. If this merger is successful, we'll see all these sports events on a single app. IPL La Liga Premiere league NBA BCCI FIFA ICC, and many more. This will engage a large audience on a single platform and increase the viewership and downloads of Jio Cinema. Jio will make a huge profit from this merger because, in a country like India, there are more sports viewers than OTT viewers. What are your views on this merger? #jiocinema #hotstar #sports
