Were there any resources that helped you learn about Disney+ Hotstar? Absolutely! There were a few key resources that really helped me. First, my college seniors who had interned at Disney+ Hotstar shared their experiences with me, which really inspired me and gave me a sense of what’s possible. I also used LinkedIn to follow industry experts and current employees at Disney+ Hotstar. Their posts and articles helped me understand the kinds of projects and innovations happening at the company. These insights together helped me get a good idea of what to expect and how to prepare. Tell us about your project? My project involves devising optimal strategies for leveraging the latest AI tools and technologies to assist advertisers and enhance the advertising experience for users. This initiative aims to facilitate small and medium businesses in advertising on the platform more effectively. On a daily basis, I interact with different people involved in the project to understand the challenges they face. This helps understand what the project should focus on and how it affects everyone involved. From there, I conclude which issues are most important to address to make the biggest impact. What has been your favorite memory from your role so far? Working in the AdTech domain has been an incredibly enriching experience. One of my most cherished memories from this role was receiving a compliment from a senior team member about my problem identification skills, showing that I am now thinking like a product manager. What sets Disney+ Hotstar apart as an employer? For me, it's the emphasis on innovation and attention to detail in delivering value to users. Every decision centers around the end user, highlighting Disney+ Hotstar's commitment to user empathy. Who is your favorite Disney character and why? In November 2023, I got a chance to interimly step into the shoes of a senior product analyst at Hotstar. Little did I know, this would be a rollercoaster ride of highs and lows, shaping my professional journey. 📺 Delving into the player side of the product, I discovered a world of intricate details. From understanding the milliseconds it takes for a video to start to decoding the complexities of API calls, every second counts. A big shoutout to Valli Kishore Vadlamudi for generously sharing his wealth of knowledge! 💡 But the real eye-opener? Learning that even the slightest delay could cost us a chunk of our audience. Talk about pressure! 💪 Faced with the daunting task of handling the entire Player Analytics segment, doubt crept in. Was I cut out for this role? Thankfully, guidance from mentors like Abhishek Raj, Dinesh Kumar and Shanmuga Sundaram reshaped my perspective. 💬 Abhishek's words hit home: "If he would have to choose to work in any department of product consumption it would be player because no matter how great the content or marketing, without a seamless player experience, users won't stick around." That simple statement transformed my outlook, highlighting the immense value my role held in the product ecosystem. 🎯 Armed with the belief in my skills, I took on challenges head-on. Fast forward 8 months, and I'm orchestrating end-to-end execution for the Player analytics segment, liaising with multiple teams, and driving impactful experiments.
