How Often Should Food Distributors Do Reroutes? The more effectively your routes account for your current customer mix, fleet makeup, and market conditions, the more cost-efficient you can be in almost every part of the delivery process. And yet, for most food distributors, the idea of rerouting more than once or twice a year seems farfetched. Simply put, distributors should reroute as often as they need to in order to make sure their operations are efficient. This might mean routing every time they take on a new customer account or make a change in their transportation network. But for that to be feasible, the process of rerouting needs to become a lot faster, less frustrating, and less time-consuming. Here's a few strategies for making that happen: -Leverage routing software that's intuitive to use -Use SaaS technology that's fast and built to scale -Codify planner knowledge into your routing system -Combine strategic route planning and daily routing into a single solution -Utilize AI and machine learning To learn more, check out our food and beverage resource hub here: https://lnkd.in/gU_Yfwv6 #logistics #fooddistribution #lastmile
