Structural failures or unserviceable equipment can impact safety and availability of the plant. The monitoring and assessment of the rotating component vibrations during nuclear plant operation is essential to validate the mechanical integrity and to ensure a reliable plant operation with high availability for an ealy detetction of an eventual misfunction. Framatome Vibration Monitoring System (VMS SUS) detects changes in the vibration behavior of primary and secondary circuit components, reactor pressure vessel (RPV) internals and reactor coolant pumps (RCPs) at an early stage by frequency and amplitude monitoring of the mechanical component vibrations for an enhanced avalibility factor and performance level. Nuclear Space Power Production Closed loop with a reusable work force. A strategy I am implementing in my model is to use a custom PMSG system that could withstand about 100,000 rpm’s of continuous flow once ramped upto reduce any moving parts or possible damage to the system. I decided to use a AMBs system that would hold this turbine shaft in place. This would allow for 2 PMSG systems on each side with limited loses. As for the turbine build due to pressure constrains we are still figuring out the needed materials for our turbine structure and integrity. While AMBs are favorable their usage of electricity is not, we are still gathering more information on possibilities for bearings but are trying to completely remove the need of moving, replaceable parts so that the system will last hundreds of years without major maintaince. If anyone has any ideas they would be much appreciated.

If overheated, the oil in a mechanical transmission loses its lubricating capacity, while the fluid in a hydraulic coupling or converter leaks under the pressure created. In an electric motor, overheating causes deterioration of the insulation. The pistons in an overheated internal-combustion engine may seize (stick) in the cylinders. But increasing machine output results mostly in highly utilized bolt connections. Meaning the property classes increase and with this also the required pretension level.
