The monitoring and assessment of the rotating component vibrations during nuclear plant operation is essential to validate the mechanical integrity and to ensure a reliable plant operation with high availability for an ealy detetction of an eventual misfunction. Nuclear Space Power Production Closed loop with a reusable work force. A strategy I am implementing in my model is to use a custom PMSG system that could withstand about 100,000 rpm’s of continuous flow once ramped upto reduce any moving parts or possible damage to the system. I decided to use a AMBs system that would hold this turbine shaft in place. This would allow for 2 PMSG systems on each side with limited loses. As for the turbine build due to pressure constrains we are still figuring out the needed materials for our turbine structure and integrity. While AMBs are favorable their usage of electricity is not, we are still gathering more information on possibilities for bearings but are trying to completely remove the need of moving, replaceable parts so that the system will last hundreds of years without major maintaince. If anyone has any ideas they would be much appreciated.
