📜 Lessons from Ramses II for Modern Cybersecurity! 🚀 In Chapter 3 of Digital Conquerors, we explore the reign of Ramses II, one of ancient Egypt’s most celebrated pharaohs. Known as Ramses the Great, his leadership and strategic foresight helped Egypt reach the height of its power during the New Kingdom era. His reign offers timeless lessons for today's cybersecurity professionals, from building resilient systems to crafting balanced defense and offense strategies. 🏛️ Key Lessons from Ramses II for Cybersecurity: - Building Enduring Foundations: Just as Ramses II’s monumental structures have stood the test of time, cybersecurity infrastructures must be built with resilience and adaptability in mind. Invest in robust systems that can withstand evolving cyber threats over time. - Strategic Defense and Offense: Ramses II demonstrated strategic balance in the famous Battle of Kadesh, combining defense with proactive offense. In cybersecurity, this translates to not only defending against threats but also actively identifying vulnerabilities through penetration testing and threat hunting. - Diplomacy and Alliances: Ramses II’s peace treaty with the Hittites highlights the importance of alliances. In today’s cybersecurity landscape, collaboration and information sharing with industry peers can be powerful tools in combating threats collectively. - Legacy and Continuity: Ramses ensured his legacy through monumental projects and succession planning. Likewise, cybersecurity programs must focus on continuity, fostering a culture of security awareness and planning for the future. - Adaptation and Innovation: While Ramses is known for traditional achievements, he also adapted to new technologies of his time. In cybersecurity, staying ahead requires embracing innovation and adapting tools to tackle new challenges. Ramses II’s legacy reminds us that a solid foundation, strategic foresight, and collaboration are key to building a secure and resilient future. 🔍 Explore how the strategic wisdom of ancient leaders like Ramses II can help you conquer the modern digital landscape in Digital Conquerors. 📖 Get your copy on Amazon: Get Digital Conquerors Here! https://lnkd.in/ejY44_Nj #DigitalConquerors #Cybersecurity #Leadership #History #NewBook #RamsesII #MakeHistoryMatterAgain

Well… Late? Yeah…but better than never. I’m raising a glass to me who PAID, PLANNED, PREPARED, but was PAUSED by life’s unforeseen to be present at the physical event. However, I shook all that was off and made a virtual attendance. A huge thank you to Africa CyberFest and all its organizers and partners for putting together such an incredible event. Although “I was live(physically)” didn’t really feel like “I was live (online)”, I still had impact life-pursuit and career-aiding takeaways. The two days of the event were quite a remarkable experience for me. The speakers and panelists I must say delivered so well beyond my unimagined expectations. There were so many intriguing sessions, but to mention a few that were quite foundational for me is the “Person” and securing a “Seat” in the job. The panel session of Adebowale Ajala, where he expressed the vitality of finding your ‘WHY’ in cybersecurity. Which is what I implied as the person. This solidified answers to the question I already have of my pursuit in merging Law and Technology. He mentioned that a confused journey/process in this field may only be as a result of an unclear purpose. Your Why should be a force that keeps wiring you for success. The session delivered by Titilope Akerele and Charles Chibueze CISSP, CISM, CEH, PNPT on building an excellent CV and techniques for acing interviews, brought so many clarities and this is what I classified as securing the seat. I will definitely apply their expertise to my CV when I begin my job search. Overall, both days and their activities were truly worthwhile. Just to mention again, I’m pained to have missed my first ever networking event opportunity, but I’m certain the next opportunity will still be the best yet opportunity. I gained knowledge and felt empowered for what’s next. Did you attend virtually like me? How was the experience for you?

Happy Wednesday my LinkedIn colleagues! Times for some #unpopularopinion: Random meetings can lead to amazing results. I’m at the GDS Group North America Summit in Boston and you get 100 or so senior leaders in IT/Cyber in a room and just see the amazing conversations happen. From bumping in to colleagues like Todd Pauley, CISSP, CISM and catching up for having a chance meeting with Jerich Beason that you have followed on LinkedIn for a while and have a in depth conversation with them before you realize that they are opening keynote! Rarely are we ever the first person to tackle a problem. Leverage our networks. Someone out there has the story and battle scars from it. They can tell you about the process, vendors, technology, tools, and problems. YOU might be that person. The one that has been there and done that. These relationships matter. BL: If you aren’t part of the network, you are part of the problem. #unpopularopinionguy
