Many companies in my native Caribbean are hiring highly skilled people for a wide variety of roles (developers/product managers/HR/UX/UI/general management - you name it, we are looking). I know this from first-hand experience because I am on the ground and I have served (and currently serve) on many (private and publicly traded) Caribbean boards. Our economies are robust and we have globally competitive companies. It seems clear to me that if recently laid-off persons are willing to consider Caribbean opportunities, we could very easily shorten their transition period. A quick plug for my native region. We have arguably the most diverse countries on earth, with migrants from every corner of the globe (as someone who values inclusion, I should note that I wish we had made greater strides on LGBTQ+ inclusivity - I personally continue to work very hard to improve human rights protections for ALL people). Many Caribbean companies have remote or hybrid opportunities for persons who are highly skilled. Travel to the Caribbean is extremely convenient. For those who are seeking to relocate, our migration regimes are very favorable. If you know someone who has recently been laid off (we accept everyone without regard to race/gender/nationality etc.), please circulate.
