Meeting the needs of racialised autistics is essential for fostering inclusion and equity within our communities. These individuals bring a rich diversity of experiences and perspectives that enrich our collective tapestry. Understanding and addressing their unique challenges and strengths is crucial. Providing culturally appropriate support and resources ensures that they can thrive in environments that honour their identities and backgrounds. By recognising and valuing the intersectionality of race and neurodiversity, we can create spaces where racialised autistics feel empowered, respected, and embraced. By listening to our voices, we can all work towards building a more inclusive and equitable society for all. 🌍🤝 #Inclusion #Equity #Neurodiversity #Intersectionality #RacialJustice #Autistic #DiversityAndInclusion

Let us always honor those living with autism, their resilience, their extraordinary minds and use their uniqueperspectivestobuild and make the world a better place. Corporations have no sensory organs and therefore re-lie on ("skilled") Human Resources personnel to identify curious environmental and/or organizational SWOT stimuli associated with new hires. When someone smells "funny" or otherwise capital-odious, the individual is scent from the error filter straight to the garbage.
Six evidence-based principles that can support the inclusion of autistic and other marginalized individuals—and improve employment for all. #DisabilityPride

Repost from @addressteenstress 💜 As parents, caregivers, teachers, and community leaders, it's essential to recognize the pressure put on teens, especially Teens of Color. Teens of Color often contend with systemic inequalities that necessitate them to exert additional effort to receive the same recognition and opportunities as their white counterparts. Despite their achievements, the pervasive influence of racial biases and stereotypes can lead to their accomplishments being overlooked or undervalued. This disparity not only places a heavier burden on Teens of Color but also highlights the need for systemic changes to ensure equitable recognition and acknowledgment for their contributions, talents, and hard work. Advocating for inclusivity, dismantling stereotypes, and fostering environments that appreciate diversity are crucial steps towards creating a fair and just platform for all teens to thrive. #teensofcolor #mentalhealthmatters #teenstress #teenpressure #teenmentalhealth #bipocteen #bipocmentalhealth #supportouryouth

Owner & Founder of Dewar Recruitment - Helping Talent Discover Their Calling & Connecting Businesses With Top Talent
Through reflecting on my own neurodiversity journey over the last few years, I have found out some things about myself that before simply had such a taboo around them, and negativity. When I first suspected I may have autism, I didn't know what to think, but over time speaking with people, among other things - I've realised it's what makes me, me. I’m now filled with a sense of pride and gratitude for the unique perspective it has given me. It hasn’t always been easy, navigating a world that often expects conformity, but embracing my differences has been empowering and part of the journey to starting Dewar Recruitment. Neurodiversity has taught me the value of thinking outside the box, fostering creativity, and approaching problems with innovative solutions. It’s also shown me the importance of empathy, understanding, and supporting others who may feel like they don’t fit the mold. I’ve been fortunate to work in environments where diversity is celebrated, as well as environments which have taught me how not to act and I strive to contribute to creating inclusive spaces for everyone. By sharing my story, I hope to raise awareness and inspire others to embrace their unique strengths. Here’s to celebrating our differences and building a world where everyone’s abilities are recognised and valued. #Neurodiversity #Inclusion #Diversity #AutisticPrideDay
