Kicking off our first Transform Learning with iPad Secondary for 2024. Today we looked at where we could find inspiration and resources, to blend with our Curriculum to create new learning opportunities. 1. We combined Everyone Can Create Projects Pop Art Task, with some fun inspiration from Find Your Friends with iPhone, to create a Star Wars themed Pop-Art. 2. We watched The Year Earth Changed on Apple TV , and downloaded Challenge Based Learning Resources from the Apple Education Community, before using Freeform to create a “mini” CBL task on how human and animals can live harmoniously together minimising human impact on Animal Habitats. 3. We used The Night Sky App as our learning tool, and Everyone Can Create Drawing Outline Shapes Activity, utilising Markup and Snap to Shape in Photos + Hands on STEM Activity, to create our own Constellation with Marshmallows and Apple Pencil. 4. We utilised Everyone Can Create Video: About Me in Clips, and created our Teacher Curriculum Goal. We discussed how and where we could take inspiration from our learning, the resources and build on these with our Subject Areas for student learning. A great day of learning. #transformlearningwithiPad #ipad #freeform #ChallengeBasedLearning #AppleEDUChat #AppleProfessionalLearning #appleedu #Apple #everyonecancreate #creativity #clips #digitallearning #digitalresources

If you let your students be on their phone or have earbuds in during instructional time: students aren’t learning & they have no respect for you! I get that no one wants to be the phone police, but a teacher has to establish clear & consistent expectations in the classroom. When admin or other teachers walk by your classroom & see AirPods & iPhones everywhere, it’s perceived as the students not respecting the teacher nor the content. #classroom #edchat #education #teachers

Mobile phones and personal learning devices for students are definitely a double-edged sword. On the one hand, they offer incredible access to information, educational apps, and collaborative tools that can enhance learning. Students can easily research topics, connect with teachers and peers, and even create multimedia projects. However, the distractions are undeniable. Social media, games, and other non-academic apps can easily pull students away from their studies. There are also concerns about cyberbullying, online privacy, and the potential for excessive screen time. Ultimately, how effectively students use these devices depends on a lot of factors, including their self-discipline, the support they receive from parents and teachers, and how schools integrate technology into their curriculum. #STU #STU80 #EveryTeacherMatters #EveryStudentMatters #ValueTeachers #RespectTeachers Don’t shield students from screens, but teach them to use devices purposefully: Chan Chun Sing https://lnkd.in/gZrunYXq
