One effective way to achieve this is by partnering and sponsoring events and activities that cater to Black, Asian, and Minority Ethnic (BAME) communities.

I recently earned a certificate on LinkedIn and it was focused on overcoming DE&I leadership challenges and learned a lot! Top Q's asked: - How can I do work in the DE&I space? - Is DE&I working? It's not a clear answer or path, but it's one of the most important ones to take on. - Core Challenges and Responsibilities: Understand the specific responsibilities of leaders and the common barriers they face. - Communication and Accountability: Learn how to effectively communicate DE&I issues, build accountability, and design solutions to advance DE&I initiatives with trust and transparency at the forefront. - Addressing DE&I Fatigue: Gain language and strategies to articulate and manage DE&I fatigue and unrealistic expectations around progress.

We all know that the advertising industry is a space of creativity and innovation, but it's also one where Black and Brown people have been historically underrepresented and often excluded from major events like the Cannes Lions. This lack of representation not only stifles diversity of thought but also perpetuates a cycle of inequality within the industry. As we approach Juneteenth, we reflect on the long journey towards freedom and equality. This is a powerful reminder of the progress we've made, the progress currently being threatened, and the work that still needs to be done. In honor of Juneteenth and our commitment to fostering a more inclusive advertising industry, Assembly Global is proud to co-host Kickback on the Croisette #KOC2024 with /prompt. in Cannes during the Cannes Lions. This event is not just a celebration but a call to action—an opportunity to create pathways to diversity, amplify Black voices, and ensure that the future of advertising is inclusive and equitable. As I honor Hispanic Heritage Month and the dope Latinx leaders I get to experience, today I want to spotlight another The Ohio State University alumni, Cid Wilson, President and CEO of the HACR - Hispanic Association on Corporate Responsibility (HACR), who is embarking on an inspiring journey to address the pressing gaps in diversity within Corporate America. Cid has started his walk over 200 miles from Capitol Hill in Washington, DC, to Wall Street in New York City. This is taking place over four weeks. Cid aims to raise awareness about the ongoing challenges of diversity, equity, representation, inclusion, and belonging in the corporate world. Along the way, he will pass iconic landmarks and engage with communities, drawing attention to the need for comprehensive changes across all levels of corporate structures. Cid’s leadership at HACR has been pivotal in advocating for Hispanic representation in corporate sectors and his efforts go way back! I learned about his passion in 2015 (picture as proof). His efforts to empower diverse talent include initiatives focused on executive positions, supplier procurement, and philanthropy. This walk not only emphasizes the importance of inclusion at the highest levels but also reflects Cid’s commitment to driving systemic change. Throughout the journey, Cid will highlight specific challenges related to diversity and inclusion each day, culminating in a powerful arrival at Wall Street—a symbol of corporate power and influence. His goal is to inspire conversations and action around creating equitable corporate environments.
