In the latest auticon Impact Report our Chief People and Social Innovation Officer talks about ESG. She says: ESG is finally on the Board and senior leadership agenda, and we see auticon as an integral part of the ‘social’ dimension of ESG. We are championing practices that will bring meaningful, systemic change in the employment landscape for the neurodivergent. There aren’t clear playbooks yet on how to effectively benchmark social goals within many organisations. This, in part, is why change has been slow, especially for neurodiversity in the workplace. In 2023, we launched our proprietary tool - “ñima” (Neuroinclusion maturity assessment) to help our customers take a data-based approach to neuroinclusion. Leveraging ñima and our own impact reporting experience, we are excited to be working with customers to develop social impact measurement practices that help build accountability for change. ✨ Earlier this week, I attended the #KPMGNGV ESG Junior Conference! ✨ And it was incredibly insightful! 🌐 The evening started with networking, food and drinks before we all sat down to listen to the panellists talking about each of the components of ESG - Richard Threlfall (KPMG), Elise Sabran (Societe Generale) and Chris Fawcett FRSA (Clifford Chance). 🗣️ Their conversations around the topic of each component of ESG was incredibly engaging and insightful. So what were the panellists' key takeaways? Richard Threlfall - ♻️ As a society, our progress on Environmental objectives simply needs speed up to ensure that our world isn't permanently damaged. Although you are only 1 person in 8 billion, you can still make a difference by influencing others! Elise Sabran - 👥 When looking to push ESG and Governance objectives, Cross-Industry Collaboration is key. By simply working together with companies and people from diverse backgrounds, you can achieve better progress! Chris Fawcett FRSA - 💡 Throughout your life, you may face Social challenges with Equity, Diversity and Inclusion. Our PwC Canada Women in Deals (WiD) group hosted our latest networking event last night with a panel on ESG. The conversation was topical, candid and at times sobering. 🔸ESG due diligence is here to stay. Modeling for climate risk for real assets is an imperative, especially with extreme weather events as the "new norm". 🔸While there is a lot of focus on the E-Environmental side, ignore the S-Social & G-Governance at your peril: labour relations, health, safety & wellness, board governance & diversity, community relations are all critical considerations. 🔸ESG isn’t new; however ESG regulation is driving the agenda forward with reporting or disclosures standards already here in some jurisdictions or on the way (e.g. Modern Slavery Act). 🔸Investors (GPs & LPs) are expecting more (maybe even asking for too much, too soon). Skeptics still abound but seem to be fighting a losing battle. 🔸ESG is not a one-time checklist. ESG factors can be viewed as both a value preservation and value creation opportunity. These need to be baked into your strategy as a critical growth lever. 🔸Decarbonization, digitalization, deglobalization are the macro trends and disruptions shaping the next decade and the ESG agenda (thanks to Iman for that one). I would add rising disillusionment to the list. Heidrick & Struggles and Aviva Investors hosted an event yesterday on 'What investors expect of the CHRO'. This roundtable focused on the CHROs roles in addressing the Climate and Environment challenges impacting their businesses' commercial sustainability.   Our debate centred on: - The Investors expectations on the impact that CHROs can have on the Environment/Climate challenges businesses face - How the talent landscape will shift through climate and environmental change and is ‘Climate Anxiety’ something CHROs need to recognise in their ESG Transition plan - How is the role of the CHRO being impacted by the Environment/Climate imperative, including Board expectations   Our panel discussion was fasciating - and came from a different angle on the subject: Steve Waygood (Chief Responsible Investment Officer at Aviva Investors) Sora Utzinger (Head of ESG Corporate Research, Aviva Investors) David Croft (Global Head of Sustainability, Reckitt Benckiser) Helena Muir (Executive Search Consultant, Sustainability, Heidrick & Struggles) Thank you Nathan Adams, CHRO of Aviva Investors for partnering with me on this event.
