Next month I’ll be walking 134km coast to coast in 2 days to raise money for Muscular Dystrophy. The reason is simple. My close friend James Chubb’s daughter Josie suffers from Ullrich Congenital Muscular Dystrophy, a rare and progressive muscle-wasting disease with no cure. It’s impossible not to be moved and inspired by the challenges faced by Josie, James and the wider family. As well as the challenges for Josie adapting physically to the condition, mentally things are becoming tough too. She is now 7 and is starting to realise her physically fit friends are able live a different life compared to her. There is little psychological support available to help her deal with this. The Chubbs family are incredible people, and raise money across a number of initiatives all year round to support the underfunded Muscular Dystrophy UK to thank them for all the support they have given them. Please consider donating to our cause or sharing this post to raise awareness. Every bit helps in our mission to support Josie and others affected by this condition: https://lnkd.in/dfd5rfHd And yes, the Manchester rain has accompanied me on most of my training miles!
Excellent commitment Ed! Really hope you don’t bring the rain with you on 31st Aug!
That is a serious amount of km’s in 2 days! Best of luck and very happy to donate to this great charity.
