Interesting post Louisa Plint and I hope you're well. Although it's worth noting that most companies, don't have a brand, let alone an employer brand and they waste a lot of time, chasing something they will never be. The bulk of the world, will never know they even exist. The 'branding' obsession, is a reflection of the marketing and consumer-led society and culture, that we're (un)lucky(?) enough to be living in. Selling the idea that working one one's brand, might be a path, to some kind of 'promised land'. There are indeed a few 'real' brands, such as Apple or Google, that are recognisable everywhere, causing most other companies to wish they had such recognition and wondering how they might achieve this. Enter the Brand Marketeers! You too can drink the 'kool-aid'......... 'do this', 'do that', develop your 'core proposition', etc., etc., etc........ I agree with the elements you reference, but from the point of view that doing things well. For example, getting 'customer (or indeed candidate) experience' right, delivering 'operational excellence' so that you 'do what you say on the tin', or indeed just doing 'nice things' and conducting one's business in an 'ethical manner'. My point being. Most 'people' will never know about XYZ Co. (other letter combinations are available), or indeed their 'brand'. Doing the 'right things' shouldn't be about developing branding, it should about doing the right things well and in doing so, one might develop a 'reputation' for doing so. Any branding flows from that - surely. That said keep up the good work and have a great week.

When it comes to attracting talent, your employer brand is everything. A recruiter can provide the first taste of your employer brand. You want them to keep your good reputation intact. “Employer brand is all about the story 📖. Recruiters must tell a good story to get talent through the door 🚪. But then the actual employee experience must align with that story. If the two pieces are out of alignment, the new employees will become disenchanted—fast. A stellar employer brand doesn’t happen by accident. Just like everything else, a good employer brand comes from the top 🏢. It starts with the CEO consciously thinking about what type of environment he would like to cultivate. People leaders must constantly strive to make sure the culture reflects their highest ideal. If there's a mismatch between the story and reality, trust erodes quickly. Incoming talent won't stick around if they feel misled. It's crucial for leaders to walk the talk. Authenticity in leadership translates into a genuine employer brand. It's not just about fancy perks or Instagrammable offices 📸. It's about creating an environment where employees feel valued, heard, and empowered 💬. Every interaction, from the interview process to the first day on the job, should reflect the core values of the company. Consistency builds trust, and trust attracts top talent. Employer branding is a continuous effort. Employees at all levels should champion the company's values, this unified approach ensures that the employer brand remains strong and credible. Invest in your people, and they'll invest in your brand. The result? A reputation that not only attracts but also retains top talent. #employerb #branding #hr #people #employeeexperience #journey #talent #hiring #image #business #strategy #retention #linkedin #linkedinconnections #talentnexa #aach
