Could be getting 8 inches of snow today and some kids get the day off from school! Other kids have virtual school. In the '80s and '90s, a snowstorm meant no school and a day of adventure. Today, kids are stuck indoors with thier teachers invading thier homes. Some are actually watching other kids having a snowball fight while they're trapped in virtual school being told to pay attention to the screen. What happened?Does it seem unfair? Do we really want to be the ones who steal this joy from children? Do parents and teachers realize how excited kids are about snow, especially when it hasn’t snowed like this in two years? At DKOldies, we know we sell video games, but we also remember the '80s and '90s. It wasn’t just about gaming, it was equally about getting outside. Our childhood was a blend of digital play and real-world adventures, especially on snow days. Virtual school has its place but shouldn't replace a snow day like this. Snow days are about more than just missing school; they're about experiencing life. As adults, we should be the ones protecting these magical moments, not be the reason they miss them. I would love to hear the reasons from the teachers or parents that are keeping the kids inside staring at monitors today.

What started as some fun in the park turned into something far bigger. 🌱 ⏪ Rewind to 2021… 🦁This video is me playing 'Animal Man' with a bunch of 4 year olds. The parents could see how their kids responded when learning is fun. 🤔They began asking: "Are you going to keep doing this after the pandemic?” “Will you start football classes?" 💡 But I’d already started to imagine something much bigger. 🪛It wasn't just about football anymore; it was about creating a tool that could inspire healthy, active habits globally. A class could reach 8, maybe 10 kids at a time—but what if we used technology? 🌐 🌍 What if we could take these fun games, this ethos of learning through play, and make it accessible to parents and children all over the world?
