🚀Very soon, patients at Østfold Hospital Trust; Sykehuset Østfold will be able to check in, benefit from smooth queue management, and pay for consultations via their mobile phones. 👉Project manager Linn Maria Hauge explains that this will save time for both patients and administrative staff. The system will first be implemented at one location's outpatient clinics starting 24 September, before expanding to the rest. Patients will receive an SMS two hours prior to their appointment for check-in, followed by a payment link after their consultation. This will reduce queues at reception and offer more flexible payment options, including Vipps MobilePay, and invoice. While digital payment is encouraged, card and cash payment will remain available. 🎯We are excited to see how this solution will bring value to both patients and staff through enhanced patient flow and free up time, allowing staff to focus on other important tasks, while patients can skip queues and leave immediately after their visit.

Additionally, reducing overtime and temporary staffing by just 1% at the South-Eastern Norway Regional Health Authority could lead to a further 4 billion NOK in savings over the same period. These results would depend on broader digitalisation efforts across the sector. 👉There was also strong emphasis on the importance of top leadership committing to digital transformation and ensuring that staff have the time to learn new systems. 🤩This week, we had the pleasure of hosting visitors from Italy, who had the opportunity to meet with Trine Lise Mørk and Rune Fossum in Øvre Eiker Kommune. They demonstrated how the municipality utilises DNV Imatis and how the solution has been systematically implemented across various departments. 👌We also visited a nursing home department and the home care service to see the digital interaction boards in action. Our Italian guests greatly appreciated the comprehensive introduction to the Norwegian municipal structure and the organisation of the healthcare system. 🙏A big thank you to Øvre Eiker for their excellent collaboration and for sharing their knowledge with our international guests.

Vibrant days at Arendalsuka, this year focusing on creating sustainable healthcare. Not surprisingly, the discussions highlighted the potential of AI and digital solutions, though concerns were raised about the need for better infrastructure and uncertainties around the interpretation of privacy policies. 👉 Looking beyond hospital walls, Oslo University Hospital is aiming for 30% of patients to receive home-based care by 2030. "Home when you can, hospital when you must” 👉 A major highlight was the introduction of the EU project MyPath_EU, where Oslo University Hospital and DNV Imatis collaborate to develop a digital tool ensuring equal treatment for all cancer patients. This project is set to transform patient-centric care and digital follow-ups across Europe. 👉 The healthcare industry is emerging as one of Norway's fastest-growing sectors, and there’s a call to capitalise on our strong reputation. Finally, discussions touched on the need to bridge the gap between pilot projects and the adoption. The upcoming Health and Coordination Plan's introduction of the Health Technology Scheme is expected to be a critical tool in achieving this, while the anticipated EPJ improvements in municipalities promise to enhance and facilitate interaction across services. 😀 See you again same time next year!
