The job market for wind turbine technicians is growing rapidly. The Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS) estimates that employment for wind farm techs will grow 45�tween 2022 and 2032. Wind farm workers and turbine technicians perform vital maintenance and repairs on wind turbines, ensuring that they can continue to deliver reliable, clean energy to communities around the world. As more people enter this profession, it’s essential that they be equipped with the necessary safety training, equipment and policies to keep them from harm.

There are massive opportunities if you are an electrical engineer in the UK. The UK have ambitious wind energy targets. Newly announced to double onshore wind generation from 15GW to 30GW by 2030. This will be a huge boost to the already booming energy construction industry. This alone can create up to new 27,000 jobs. But in order to enable the connections, the electrical infrastructure also needs to build five times more what was built over the last 30 years. Not to mention the 15GW to 60GW by 2030 target for offshore wind. These targets all require rapid expansion, and at the heart of all this is the workforce. Electrical engineers will be required at an unprecedented scale over the next 10-20 years.

CONNECTORS, CONNECTORS, CONNECTORS! | There’s no job too big for Connector Subsea Solutions (CSS), as we look back at 12 connectors we built and tested last year. This project was a great example of the capabilities of our technicians and project managers, effectively managing a large volume of connectors within a very tight schedule, conducting internal/hydrotesting in pairs to reduce time, with no compromise on standards or quality. In 2023 alone, clean energy jobs surged by 4.2%—more than twice the national average—adding 142,000 new positions nationwide. Since the Inflation Reduction Act (IRA) was passed in August 2022, nearly $500 billion has been invested in clean energy technologies, generating over 334,000 new jobs and driving $5-$6 in private investment for every federal dollar spent. These new roles are not just numerous—they’re accessible, offering wages 21% higher than the national average and often not requiring a four-year degree. This clean energy boom is also reaching communities in need, with 81% of investments directed to counties with below-average wages, fostering economic mobility and creating high-quality jobs for thousands of Americans.
