What to do in case of a nosebleed⁉️ First, remove the factors that exacerbate the bleeding (avoid talking, coughing, or making sudden movements). Sit down, loosen clothing around the neck, and tilt the head FORWARD. ⛔️ Do not tilt the head back or lie down - this will cause blood to flow into the throat and may induce vomiting. Apply something cold to the bridge of the nose. Ensure a fresh air supply. Drink something cold. If the nosebleed continues, firmly press the nostrils against the septum. Breathing should be deep through the mouth. If blood flows into the mouth - spit it out. #: Local Health System Sustainability Project (LHSS) USAID This project was made possible by the support of the American people, provided through the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) under the Sustainable Health Systems Development Project grant. The Government of New Brunswick / Gouvernement du Nouveau-Brunswick announced today that MyHealthNB, the province’s health information app, will now allow residents to create a summary of their own medications, immunizations and recent laboratory and medical imaging tests, and share it with health professionals who don’t have access to the provincial electronic health records system. The Atlantic province is the first of several planned jurisdictions in Canada to implement this patient-generated approach to the pan-Canadian and International Patient Summary standards, aligned to the Shared pan-Canadian Interoperability Roadmap, developed in partnership with Infoway and VeroSource, a HEALWELL AI Company, and supported by the Government of Canada. Positive moves towards achieving universal health coverage will be one of the most significant contributions digital health applications will make to the future of healthcare delivery and management in South Africa during the next decade. Key to this will be the role it will play in breaking “the proverbial Iron Triangle”, i.e. perennial issues surrounding the interoperability between access, quality and cost. This was one of the main points emphasised in a Smart Health Africa Summit Fireside Chat between Dr Unben Pillay, ASAIPA - THE ALLIANCE OF SOUTH AFRICAN IPA'S CEO and Summit convenor, and Discovery Health CEO, Dr Ron Whelan, in a candid introductory discussion on the future of healthcare in the next decade, the impact of AI on healthcare delivery, the vision of having a doctor in every home (or every hand), ensuring patients remain at the centre of the health system, and protecting data and patient confidentiality. #Healthcare #HealthSystems #HealthcareDelivery #SmartHealthAfrica Read more and join the conversation by registering on our free networking platform for African healthcare professionals. Improve standards and increase regulation. Probably not something that was expected by many in my presentation at the Informa Connect #nationaltelehealthconference. It is exactly what we feel is needed to improve safety and quality in a private industry that seems to lack the integrity and expertise to do it voluntarily. At Eucalyptus we’ve invested in clinical governance, provided transparency and external validation through accreditation and are committed to an aggressive research roadmap. There’s a long way to go and it’s not just up to us to fix some of the barriers to improving digital health services in Australia and beyond - but it’s an exciting time nonetheless.

The epSOS (European Patients Smart Open Services) project was a large-scale European initiative aimed at creating cross-border health services that allow secure access to patient health information across EU member states. The project, which ran from 2008 to 2014, focused on developing and testing solutions for the exchange of electronic health records (EHRs) and ePrescriptions across national borders. Some aspects of the epSOS project include: ePrescription and Patient Summary: The main services developed under epSOS were the ePrescription service, which allows for electronic prescriptions to be issued and dispensed across borders, and the Patient Summary service, which provides essential health information about a patient, such as allergies, medications, and medical history, to healthcare providers in another country. Interoperability: epSOS was focused on creating interoperable systems that could work together despite differences in language, medical practices, and technical standards across different countries. This involved the development of technical infrastructure, legal frameworks, and governance models to support cross-border health information exchange. note: success of project is not designing and implementing, sometimes timing is important than everything. #digitalhealth #ehealthservices
