Hormonal changes during menopause may lead to some people developing Type 2 Diabetes. This can be caused by: 🔸 The decline in oestrogen and progesterone can reduce insulin sensitivity 🔸Blood sugar fluctuations caused by hormonal changes 🔸Weight gain 🔸Sleep disturbances Our at-home Health Check range includes a Diabetes Check which tests your HbA1c levels. This test gives you an indication if you are pre-diabetic, have diabetes or how well your diabetes is being controlled if you already know you have diabetes. https://lnkd.in/dFNuujG6 Our Menopause Health Check range screens the Follicle Stimulating Hormone (FSH) levels in your blood to get you a snapshot of your menopausal status. https://lnkd.in/dAxGu2xQ #diabetes #menopause #bloodsugar

I talk alot about anti-inflammatory foods and ensuring that we are getting enough of these during menopause. Harvard Health have just posted an article where they state that “Doctors are learning that one of the best ways to reduce inflammation lies not in the medicine cabinet, but in the refrigerator. By following an anti-inflammatory diet you can fight off inflammation for good”. I have attached their chart below which makes it easier to see what foods are best. You will also notice that these are foods from a Mediterranean style diet 😊 If you want to understand more about reducing inflammation in menopause, then drop me a message and we can organise a complimentary 30 minute phone chat. #kahamna #menopausehealth #menopausepractitioner #lifestylechanges #antiinflammatoryfood #inflammationinmenopause
