Part 1 of 3. "The Event Producer" I bought my first Bitcoin when it was at $26, was at the first SXSW when the second week turned from movies to technology, and I produce about 4 major technology conferences around the globe a year. I have seen the first internet bubble and as we are in a bull run now, the second will eventually come. So I get a chuckle when I am working a convention, conference, or even a mixer that a client is paying me to make spectacular, and a person or company is very interested in speaking with me until... It comes out that I am JUST the "event producer." Suddenly no one wants to speak with me and I am the village idiot. I think it's funny, I am not an expert in the crypto/web3 industry, but it is my hobby so I stay interested. I do know a lot more about it than most friends my age and I am around it and deal with it often, so I think my opinion matters, right? Last June, ALG was part of a huge global tech conference, the pinnacle of new blockchains and DeFi startups getting money just thrown at them. A large number of the attendees were big money investors which I didn't realize until this happened. I was speaking with this company ZZZZZ (companies, products, people shall remain anonymous) who paid big money to have a booth at the convention. They tell me they are looking for funding because the last of their startup capital had been spent on the convention in hopes to find funding. Interesting, I thought, tell me about your product? At this point, they don't know that I am "just the producer of the event." So as we get into what they are doing, this man about my age walks over and starts to listen. So the company gets done with the presentation and I was lost. I had no idea what they were doing, who their target market was, and what the product even did. Okay, maybe I am "just a producer." The guy next to me leaves, and these two young presenters go crazy as they inform me that the guy next to me was XXXXX, one of the most wealthiest people in the crypto industry and is a major investor in 2 mega VC companies. He is a billionaire. WOW! They were ecstatic as the main reason they came to the convention was to pitch to guys like that, cool. They asked for my opinion about the product, and I kindly lied and said you guys should have no problem finding investors. They said that it? That is when I had my out and said I am "just the producer of the event" at which time I kindly said good luck and left. Perfect, I got out of giving my real opinion. Come back next week for Part 2 "The Billionaire". Aram Mughalyan H.E. Justin Sun Natalia Gutiérrez

edition no 7 of fractl's Founders & Investors Brunch at Bitcoin2024 in Nashville, was a special one... because I messed up 😂 let me tell you how!... after this commercial break 🤓 big thanks to our sponsors that made this event possible 💗 ➡️ Hashlock a leading smart contract auditing and cyber security firm ➡️ Interim-CFOs a one stop shop for all your accounting, finance & tax needs ➡️ Multiplied Web3 Marketing & PR agency focused on product, performance, & narrative development (preferred marketing partner of fractl 🥰) ➡️ fractl (my team 💚) fractional Chief Marketing Officers helping web3 startups go to market, scale and attract top tier venture capital ✨ So I was saying, I messed up. The first 5 events of this series, I did everything myself... because that's all the help I could afford 😂 but also because I wanted to figure things out first and see what should be delegated and how. So I reviewed thousands of applicants by myself, spending between 20-30 hours before every event going through pitch decks, checking founders' background etc. to make sure I had a perfectly curated guest list. After event no5 I felt like I had enough data aaand honestly too much on my plate with all the leads that came from the events, so I onboarded an event manager and a web3-native marketer to take over the due diligience/guest list curation. new due diligence team member did great in Brussels, perfectly curating the guest list ✅ In nashville, I failed to mention to him that even if we were at a bitcoin conference, our events are ✨chain agnostic✨ so we wanna host the best web3 projects, regardless of the chain they're building on. so him we ended up accepting only the projects that were more closely related to Bitcoin and as a result, missed out on some great projects from other chains...even some I had personally invited 🥲 Produce 12 events in 10 different countries, in 6 months they said. it'll be fun they said... 🤡 I'm they 🙋🏼♀️ 'They' is very optimistic and she doesn't account for the fact that scaling fast means sh!t will fall between the cracks because new people get onboarded faster than SOPs get created 😵💫 But we did it!! and the reality is nobody could tell what the event was 'supposed' to be. only that it was a great event with aloooot of very promising projects from the Bitcoin ecosystem... so i mean, we were on theme 😆🧡 if I said I learned to delegate better I'd be lying, I'm sh!t at delegating but I'm great at powering through. u win some u lose some 🤷🏼♀️ in the end, it worked out 🧡🥳 see you in Koreaaaa :D Next ✈️ 🇰🇷 Korea Blockchain Week (Seoul, September 2) 🇸🇬 TOKEN2049 (Singapore, September 16, 17 & 18, 3 events!) 🇺🇸 Messari Mainnet (NYC, October) 🇦🇪 Blockchain Life 2024 (Dubai, October) 🇹🇭 Devcon Ethereum Foundation (Thailand, November) John Goldschmidt Javier Caceres Daniel Forero Fletcher Roberts Keisha M. A New Chapter Begins. After 4 years and 8 months of pouring my thoughts, heart, and energy into building CosmWasm and Confio, it’s time for me to move on. Someone once called me the "mother of CosmWasm"—a title I wear with pride! This incredible journey has been filled with challenges and triumphs, and I’m proud of what we’ve achieved together. When I joined in January 2020, there were only 3 of us: Ethan, Simon, and me. Even before the company was formally established, I was contributing to the growth and success of CosmWasm, helping to transform it from its earliest days into a key player in the ecosystem. I spearheaded the branding, established our websites and social media platforms, and organized the first community calls and developer workshops in 2020. These efforts laid the foundation for expanding the CosmWasm developer community and set the stage for future growth. From securing our first major deals with Terra and Osmosis to recruiting Tgrade validators in 2021 and 2022, I’ve been deeply involved in every aspect of Confio's growth. I also led the successful CosmWasm Academy project and organized the first-ever CosmWasm events in Seoul. Interacting with developers throughout this journey has been one of my greatest joys, constantly learning new things and gaining insights from the talented people in our community. This experience enriched my role and fueled my passion for the ecosystem. One of my proudest achievements was growing the CosmWasm Twitter following from 0 to over 20k. Building this community was crucial in spreading the word and gaining traction within the Cosmos ecosystem. In 2023, I played a key role in navigating Confio through a challenging financial crisis, raising over $2M and proving our tech stack as one of the four pillars recognized by the Interchain Foundation. I’m proud to have helped secure community support from Hub, Osmosis, and Terra. In 2023 and 2024, I organized 1 conference and 2 hackathons, raising over $300k by contacting more than 100 entities. Securing sponsorships was especially tough during the financial crisis and after the FTX incident, but everything went smoothly and was praised by sponsors and participants alike. I was also the key contributor in closing CosmWasm Subscription deals. As I look to the future, I’m excited about the possibilities ahead. With a strong network and proven track record in business and marketing within the Cosmos ecosystem, I’m eager to bring my expertise to new challenges and opportunities. Thank you to everyone who has supported me along the way. Let’s stay connected—I’m always open to collaborations and new ventures.

How to make crypto conferences useful There’s a joke that one of the main use cases of crypto is conferences - you could literally go to a different conference on a different continent every week if you wanted. Done right though, conferences can be a huge benefit to a crypto startup of any stage. Here’s what to do: 1/ Be Super Selective It pays to be selective. To a first approximation, go to where there’s the highest developer density, within the context of what you’re building. For us at SimpleHash, that means 4-5 per year, namely EthDenver, EthCC, NFT NYC, Solana Breakpoint, and Token2049. 2/ Define Your Objectives. Maybe you’re looking to fundraise, or to time the conference with a major launch. For us, it’s all about meeting new and interesting builders in the space, and connecting with customers. Having a clear goal is critical to avoid wasting time. 3/ Plan Your Conference. Most of the time (with some exceptions like EthDenver and Token2049), the main conference events are not where you’ll find anything relevant. It’s all about the side events - which are usually more fun anyway. Most conferences have formal or informal lists of side events ahead of time. Don’t just blindly sign up for everything, think about your objectives. Will each event actually be a chance for you to meet the right people? But be careful not to overplan either - leave some room for serendipity. 4/ Tag Team There’s usually too many events to hit up alone. So split the workload across a team. Conferences aren’t for everyone either - for us, it’s usually myself and Josh Itzkovitz dividing and conquering. 5/ Be A Normal Person People hate when an interaction feels transactional. Go into each event with the goal of providing more value that you receive. It’ll be a huge unlock. Surprisingly this is missed a lot at crypto conferences. (Hint: this is a good rule for life too). 6/ Follow Ups (this is what most people miss) Don’t let all the contacts and conversations you’ve had go stale. People are busy, and get distracted. In the week after the conference, you should be spending almost as much time as you did at the conference following up, getting those calls booked, or agreeing on next steps. This is what I see missed most frequently, because it’s the least fun part (but also most important). Do these and you’ll be ahead of 99% of people. What did I miss?

Okay, so technically it’s three weeks and two days until the Staking Summit, but I’m honestly just too excited to wait to make this post. This is the third time we’re organizing the Staking Summit—we’ve been in Lisbon (Europe), Istanbul (somewhat in the middle, partly in Asia and partly in Europe), and now Bangkok (Asia). Maybe next year we’ll do something in Latin America, and I’m still trying to convince my CEO to have a work retreat in Africa just once, haha. Anyways, in three weeks, it’s the Staking Summit, which has mostly been a year-long project in the making, with other events in between. I would love to meet many of you there—especially investors, validators, home stakers, and protocols building in the space. It’s really going to be kickass (am I allowed to use this word on LinkedIn?). We’ve now confirmed over 40 sponsors, and yesterday, after three years of dedicated trial and error, we confirmed Vitalik, one of the most influential figures in staking. A special thanks to the sponsors who are helping us make this event a reality for the third year in a row, and to so many of you who have supported us for three consecutive years! It's going to be such high quality and the best summit yet—at one of the most beautiful hotels in the world. There’s really no reason to miss it unless you’re not in this industry at all, haha. Here is the link to our event page: https://lnkd.in/dRT6UijX And below, I have tagged our sponsors who have an account here. So excited for this! We founded another Web3 company, and this will probably not be the last one. With everything we do, many people actually ask us how large our team is (spoiler: Probably smaller than you think). By now, our w3 group includes a Venture Fund and a Liquid Token Fund, a Community & Co-Working Space, a Media Ecosystem Brand, as well as an Infrastructure and Staking Company. Why all this? "Why not focus on doing one company right in the first place?" my mother would probably say. Well, each company has its touchpoints under the w3 brand. Everything flows together and fuels each other. Here’s what I mean: 🎤 Without our education initiatives and our presence on social media, as well as various podcast interviews and stage appearances, the core idea of the funds would certainly not have reached so many people. 🎪 Without all the efforts we put into so many events and conferences worldwide, our network would never have grown so quickly. Nor would our credibility in both the Web3 and Web2 (or even Web0 bubble) have grown as it did. 🏢 Without the credibility, network, and community that developed organically through our regular media offerings, the basic concept of a Co-Working Space would not have been possible. 🤍 Without all the groundwork and our standing, we would never have been able to host such a successful Berlin Blockchain Week. We are incredibly proud to host such an impressive lineup (Have you seen our recap video on the w3.fund LinkedIn Account yet?). 💸 Without our drive to make Web3 use cases and investment opportunities more accessible to more people and to push this from within, opportunities like w3.labs or w3.wave would not have arisen. 🔨 With infrastructure like staking (driven by Tom König) or new investment opportunities in liquid assets (driven by Philipp Beer and Julius Nagel), we can position ourselves further, cover all facets of Web3, and be a hub for various stakeholders. Everyone can get involved. Learn more on our website.

✨ Happy birthday to us: Particula's first anniversary! 🎊🚀 🎉 This week marks a full year since PARTICULA was officially founded in Munich, Germany. Looking back at the journey from our very first notary appointment, it's astounding to witness the strides we've made.
