But I want to make sure it’s informed by real users. So I have two simple questions for you: 1. What do you enjoy most about the conferences you've attended? 2. What do you believe most conferences are lacking or could improve on? If you're interested in following along the The NGO International Film Festival journey follow Jake Carroll, I'll be posting updates leading up to the event and all throughout ✌️ And if you want to see more crowdsourcing magic give this a repost ♻️, content takes a lot of time to create, reposting is free 😄

We’re just returning home from Cannes, where we attended Mipcom with a slate of developmet projects. While Mipcom may not have been quite as busy as some years in the past, we headed to Cannes with our calendars filled with meetings. Here’s some takeaways from that may apply to you whether you’re producer, writer or something else. 1. Prepare well beforehand. Know what you’re looking for and try to book your meetings as early as possible. 2. Keep your eyes and ears open. Ask questions, offer your services, whatever they may be. You never know who you might bump into. 3. Whatever you’re buying, selling or looking for, prepare your pitch. The more concise you can be, the easier for the other party get what you want. The same goes for the number of projects you pitch. Don’t just throw around ten projects, but know who you’re pitching to. 4. Money is tight everywhere. Try to look for any ways of collaboration. Be it co-comissions, windowing, partnering with both streamer and broadcaster, I believe that is the way. 5. Be creative with drama concepts. For example, make them look big with just a few locations to keep your costs down. Times are tough, but let’s just stay positive. I strongly believe that things will turn for the better eventually.
