Grid Deployment Office | U.S. Department of Energy’s Post

TODAY: U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) announced a transmission permitting reform rule and industry investments to reduce permitting delays and increase investor confidence to deploy critical electric infrastructure more quickly.   The Coordinated Interagency Transmission Authorizations and Permits (CITAP) Program, established by the final rule today, will better coordinate Federal permitting processes for electric transmission, ensuring that Americans have clean, reliable, and affordable power when and where they need it.   DOE also announced an investment through the Transmission Facilitation Program for the Southwest Intertie Project (SWIP-N), a proposed 285-mile transmission line that would bring wind energy from Idaho to southern Nevada.   Read the full announcement: https://lnkd.in/eW68P8hT
