🍻 Getting a beer in the wrong glass?? 🍻 In the beer industry, the debate over glassware is constant. We invest time and money in making our glassware stand out to attract customers. Bar teams aim to deliver the pints to people's hands as fast as possible, while marketing teams focus on brand presentation. The importance of the right glass versus any glass for the beer is a dilemma. Good bar staff strive to serve beer in the appropriate glass, but what if the right glass is hot? On the marketing end, brand representation is crucial. The pride in the glass should match the brewer's pride in the beer. It can be frustrating for the marketing department to see beer served in another glass. Then you have the sales team that is stuck in the middle. They want to sell sell sell but also know that brand presence will always help with the sell. One thing will always reign supreme though, support your local pub and enjoy a pint. Nothing beats the experience of a pint in a pub setting. 🍺 (note... This photo is a Beavertown glass without a Beavertown beer. Also not a Two Tribes beer, it just got the debate going again!) #BeerIndustry #GlasswareDebate #SupportLocalPubs

An American research group has compared the effects of storing the beer types IPA and Amber Ale in glass bottles and aluminum cans respectively. Shortly after brewing, the bottles were stored refrigerated for one month and then at room temperature for five months to mimic how a beer is typically stored. Every two weeks, the researchers opened a bottle and a jar and analyzed the contents. #BeerTest #BeerBlindTest #BeerTaste #ReGiuSonYoutube #CanVSbottle #BottledBeer #CannedBeer #Beercan https://lnkd.in/d22fKrYu

Beverage buddies : Co-manufacturer + Distributor = Thoughts? The beverage world’s two most challenging aspects are finding a co-packer and finding a distribution partner. What if the co-packer is also a distributor and can manufacture and distribute your formula for you? Thoughts? #beverage #nabeverage #nadrinks

Open Question to All Craft Beer Brewers How do you measure the color and International Bitterness Units (IBU) of your beers? Beyond calculations using pen and paper or Excel sheets, how often do you employ chemical analytics like spectrophotometry for these measurements? Ever cracked open a cold one and wondered, "Who came up with this brilliant beer can idea?" Well, buckle up because I've got a frothy tale for you! Back in the day (we're talking the 1930s), beer was primarily served in glass bottles. But then, along came a game-changer: the beer can! In 1935, the American Can Company and Gottfried Krueger Brewing Co. teamed up to create the first-ever beer can. These beauties were made of heavy-gauge steel and were marketed as “Krueger’s Finest Beer.” Imagine trying to shotgun one of those! The innovation didn't stop there. By the 1960s, cans got a facelift with aluminum, making them lighter and more user-friendly. Fast forward to the late 1970s, and we got the beloved pop-top can, thanks to Ermal Fraze. No more fiddling with can openers – just a satisfying *click* and you're good to go. Today, beer cans are a staple in the beverage world. They’re eco-friendly, portable, and perfect for preserving that crisp, refreshing taste we all love. Plus, they come in all sorts of cool designs – talk about a win-win! So next time you're enjoying a beer, take a moment to appreciate the journey of the can in your hand. Cheers to innovation and the simple pleasures of life! 🍻 #BeerLovers #Innovation #Throwback #Cheers

So many great things about this story - a founders earned insight, perseverance and belief, understanding the customer (both through data and empathy), and eCommerce for beer! This is a story about Athletic Brewing, and how they completely changed American’s consumption of non-alcoholic beer. Focusing on flavor - making something that does not taste like swamp water - and recognizing this was not “instead of” but “in addition to” how most consumers wanted to enjoy beer - mixing in alcohol free to moderate their alcohol consumption as they enjoyed beer. (I think the same is true in other categories as well, such as cocktail/mocktail). But this is also a story of how eCommerce was used, as this successful CPG got started and continues to test product. When new products graduate from Athletic’s pilot system, the brand sells them directly to consumers through its e-commerce platform. “We’ll sell 30 cases in 30 seconds,” the founder Bill Shufelt shared. Kudos to the WSJ & journalist Ben Cohen for this one.

Today’s Wednesday, which is our delivery day, and I’m the delivery man, so why am I sanding tables?! The simple answer is we’ve run out of beer, but more specifically the beer that sells uber quick - hoppy pale ales. We’ve been pushing for an increase in trade sales this year and the last few weeks it’s started to pay off and seen us get cleared out of beer pretty much completely. We had a batch literally sell out in a week. Especially satisfying given the significant investment in a new canning machine is the amount of cans that have seemingly disappeared. The issue with all this? Running out of stock isn’t exactly great news for our customers if they want beer! We are currently investigating how we can increase capacity - we *might* be able to squeeze a new vessel in the brewery, but more likely is that we will have to outsource some brewing, something we’ve never done before. Either that or look at the end of rainbows for a big pot of gold 😂 Whilst we wait for new beer to finish fermenting I’m making some improvements to the taproom to help sales there a little, focusing on our outside space in particular
