Genetic testing for eye diseases has advanced significantly. DNA can be analysed to detect genetic markers linked to various eye conditions.
This is crucial for those with a family history of eye issues, as it enables early intervention and more effective treatment plans.

Today is #WorldHealthDay and this year’s theme is #MyHealthMyRight. At Lexeo, we believe that everyone deserves access to health services, education, and information.

Genetic testing and genetic counseling are often underutilized, but these services can have a meaningful impact in getting patients the health information and healthcare they deserve.

Great article highlighting the important expertise in interpretation of genetic test results that genetic counsellors can add to a team! Having genetic counsellors integrated into subspecialty clinics (family med, cardiology, oncology, neurology...the list goes on..) working alongside non-genetic healthcare providers will add value (for both patients and practitioners) as we push forward into a personalized/precision health era.

"Non-genetic Health Professionals were significantly more likely to make any error than Genetic Counselors for discussing all genomic test results (positive, negative, or uncertain). Common error themes include *omission of critical information, overstating a negative result, overinterpreting an uncertain result* and failing to disclose negative secondary findings*."
