Here's to 2024. I had an amazing time off over the break (in fact I'm still away - this is just a scheduled post) and I hope everyone got to spend time with their loved ones.
Over the break, I did mess around with #stablediffusion and experimented with AnimateDiff. Yes, I had done things with it before via A1111 and ComfyUI. It was great but ouch too painful for vram limits and it just takes so long to get stuff out.
Last nov/dec, I started trying out animatediff-cli-prompt-travel which helps a ton vram wise by bypassing GUIs. The fun bit is, someone built an interface for it Diffex. I highly recommend it. A version in Dec included controlnet QR Monster 2 and voila, I can do what I want with it then. The dev is very active on Discord and the community there is extremely helpful.
So here are some portal animations. More to come as I generated a ton over the break. For my fellow Aurecon colleagues, this should be on the portrait screens in the office (If your office has enplug).

- UX isn't going anywhere with AI on the rise; it's actually getting better, still relying on human feelings and understanding. Even with tech layoffs, things are looking up. If you're not working right now, consider learning these tools to work smarter and focus on what really counts.
- Being a generalist isn't a bad thing; it can actually be beneficial and add value to your process. You can leverage existing knowledge and apply it to your context without always needing to consult a specialist (just remember to double-check if you're able to share with them).
- UX designers should be involved in all company processes, much like spreading pancake batter evenly. We all know how challenging it can be, but let's stay committed to what we're doing.
