Helping Professional Women Build $ Confidence, $ Mindset, $ Peace | Decrease Shame, Increase Time and Money | One of Top Overshopping Programs Rated by PhDs | Therapist & Advisor Referred
Oh No! A Connection between ADHD and Overshopping Too?! Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) is characterized by symptoms such as inattention, impulsivity, and hyperactivity. While the connection to overspending/overshopping is not conclusive, here is what has been observed. 😮 1. Impulsivity: Individuals with ADHD often struggle with impulsivity, such as impulsive spending- not considering the consequences or adequate planning. 🎁 2. Reward Sensitivity: Some studies suggest that individuals with ADHD may have heightened sensitivity to rewards -seeking immediate gratification through shopping. 😣 3. Distractibility: People with ADHD may have difficulty focusing and may engage in shopping to alleviate boredom or distract themselves from other tasks. 😩 4. Self-Regulation: ADHD is associated with difficulties in self-regulation, including managing emotions and behaviors. Overshopping can be used to regulate emotions through escape, a dopamine "high" or cope with stress, anxiety, or other negative emotions. 😢 5. Connected with other conditions: ADHD often co-occurs with depression, anxiety, and impulse control disorders, which can also contribute to overshopping behavior. Not everyone with ADHD has issues with overspending, and not everyone who overspends has ADHD. About 30% of my overshoppers have ADHD. And many of my clients seek help with 1-4 above even if they do not have ADHD. My program focuses on all of the above for both neurodiverse individuals and those without neurodiverse conditions. It includes a mix of strategies including behavioral change, financial counseling, and developing coping skills to improve impulse control and decision-making. ✅ SHARE IF YOU KNOW SOMEONE WITH ADHD. #ADHD #compulsiveshopping #shoppingaddiction #overspending #financialcoach #financialtherapy --------------------------------- 💥 I’m Carrie. 🔺 My clients say I leave them with incredible peace, and confidence. 🔺 My Stopping Overshopping ™ Program is rated one of the TOP 3 in THE WORLD, assessed by an independent third party of PhD’s.
