Are we talking your language? If the following resonates with you: ✅ It's about the journey, not the destination ✅ Taking the long way home is desirable option ✅ The concept of a 'driving holiday' makes perfect sense ✅ You recognise the desire to upskill isn't a weakness then we're on the same page. If you're mature enough to recognise that there's always more to learn (we meet many drivers who think they have 'enough' skills) then keep reading. Driving Masters is a team of professional instructors at the top of their game. They've trained OEM test drivers, the police and the military and are happy to share their experiences with driving enthusiasts. The Driving Masters DMAP programme, is a five tier course catering for novice drivers through to industry professionals. We coach: ➡️ Defensive driving ➡️ The art of the overtake ➡️ Advanced hazard awareness and scanning techniques ➡️ Risk management on motorways ➡️ The craft of "Making Progress" without drama ➡️ Correct use of ABS ➡️ Car dynamics and skid control and so much more. Let us share the joy of advanced driving with you. www.drivingmasters.uk

The UK's Leading High Performance Driving Authority and Consultant | Keynote Speaker | Driving Talks and Presentations | Columnist for evo magazine, AutoExpress and Daily Telegraph.
This subject came up at one of my recent talks, about changing down through the gears on approach to a hazard. Years ago, we used to do this as that's how we were taught. But not any more. The more recent methodology is to use 'one brake and one gear' when negotiating hazards. Here's me explaining how this works. Then moving onto a subject that so many get wrong - "emerging safely from junctions" because drivers often "look .. but don't see." Here I explain the safest method; checking to the right first, followed by checking left, then right, then left again. Just before you emerge, one final check to the right as that where the greatest danger comes from. Once you've joined the new road, check mirrors for instant rearward awareness (what's happening behind you). Always look *right* last before leaving the junction!! Get the basics right, and evaluate your own performance! www.drivingmasterclass.com #drivingperformance #drivingmasterclass #safedriving #instagram #safetyperformance #expertcoaching #evaluate #peakperformance

This paper is a systematic review in my previous job at Lab BioNR, that could be a good start for people interested in educational programs for motorcyclists.
In light of the critical importance of road safety, I wanted to share a recent publication from Lab BioNR at Université du Québec à Chicoutimi. This study addresses a significant gap in post-license safety interventions—educational programs, training sessions, or initiatives aimed at improving the safety skills and awareness of motorcyclists who have already obtained their licenses. Motorcyclists represent a vulnerable group in road safety. Annually, approximately 1.35 million people die in road collisions worldwide, with 28% of these fatalities involving motorcyclists, both riders and passengers. This Systematic Literature Review seeks to summarize the evidence on the effectiveness of post-license interventions for motorcyclist safety. Out of 1,263 studies reviewed, 11 were selected for detailed analysis. The findings were mixed: 5 studies reported positive effects, 5 showed mixed results, and 1 found the intervention ineffective. Although some interventions showed short-term effectiveness, their impact often diminished over time, highlighting the need for refresher sessions to sustain long-term safety benefits.
