Day 6 of Donate Life Month's Spirit Week is an uplifting way to promote organ, eye, and tissue donation. That's because today is Create "Donate Life" Rocks day. Painted rocks have become a trend in communities all over the United States. The mission is simple: you paint a rock and place it somewhere for someone to find. Once found, someone picks up the painted rock and eventually places it in a new location. Painted rocks get traded out for other rocks with other messages. Some rocks say Kindness Matters. Some just have a simple design meant to brighten someone's day. A Donate Life rock, however, helps promote the ongoing need for organ, eye, and tissue donors to help give people the gift of life or sight. It symbolizes a message of hope for someone waiting for a life-saving or life-changing surgery. We know from personal experience, that discovering your baby or child may require heart surgery can be an exceedingly difficult and worrying time. At Down Syndrome UK (DSUK) we work hard to provide information and support to parents of children and young people with Down syndrome, and so we created PADS Heart Buddies to provide support to families of our babies and young children. Heart Buddies are parents whose little ones have previously undergone the same/similar procedure, who have kindly volunteered to virtually hold your hand and provide support, offering understanding and practical advice throughout this stressful period – from initial hospital appointments to surgery and through to recovery. 🌟 As many of you know, I've been incredibly fortunate to be part of something truly meaningful with Relief for Human Suffering Foundation. It's a journey of compassion and transformation that has touched the lives of over 15,000 individuals in Africa since 2021. But there's more to be done! One Order - One Smile: A Mission to Bring Smiles 😁 In celebration of Droppii's birthday month 🎉 Droppii is partnering with Operation Smile to bring smiles to children in Vietnam with cleft lip and palate. Vietnam has a high incidence of cleft lip and palate👁with about 1 in 1,000 babies born with cleft lip and about 1 in 2,500 babies born with cleft palate. ❌As of 2017, approximately 15,000 children in Vietnam have not received treatment for cleft lip and palate. A cleft lip surgery takes about 45 minutes and costs around 10 million VND (about $400).
