I love analogies! Before you do ANYTHING, you’ve got to understand how it flows from 0 to 1 or a-z. Let’s say you’re building a new onboarding process for your team. If you start by creating training materials without first mapping out the employee journey—from initial introduction to full integration—you could end up with a bunch of resources that don’t align or even address the right needs. Jumping in based on assumptions almost always leads to rework—or worse, solving a problem that doesn’t even matter in the big picture. Think of it like water flowing through a pipeline: if there’s a block at step 2 but you’re focused on fixing step 4, you’re just wasting time.
