I am on vacation… I recently went on a bucket list adventure riding on the beautiful white sand beaches, through the Caribbean sea while the sunset on 2024, it was truly a once in a lifetime excursion!! During that ride a fluke situation made it so I was forced to surrender any type of control over my horse… I literally had no reins!! And it could have been a disaster, but in the end it was one of the best rides I have ever experienced because I learned to truly release and trust the process. When I had complete control, my horse was a little overzealous, fighting me a lot and we had a less amicable relationship but when I was forced to give up control, suddenly, the partnership was more relaxed, both of us listened to each other better and we were able to have such a great ride built on mutual respect and trust. I think this is a great lesson in life and work… that sometimes when we try to control every aspect even with the best of intentions it’s stifling and can diminish progress, but when you loosen the reins (or in my case lose them completely 😂😂) and allow the chips to fall into place you may be surprised at how much more you can achieve and how much easier the situation becomes.
