AI can now produce what once seemed to be the exclusive realm of human imagination. However, with this power comes the potential for over-reliance, where AI becomes a creative crutch instead of a tool. When we lean too much on AI for ideas, we risk stifling our originality and may not always arrive at the best solutions.

Change is challenging for everyone, however different styles respond differently. Leaders and managers equipped with this information have less of a challenge and have organizations who embrace change. #culture #changemanagement #disc #personalitystyles

I like these suggestions on embracing change with DiSC styles in mind. They may seem oversimplified to some. It’s important to remember everyone is unique. Even two people with the same DiSC style and DiSC “dot inclination” can still be very different from each other. Many of us have a blended style, and some have additional priorities not typical of their style. Knowing your DiSC style or other’s styles doesn’t tell us everything about ourselves or others. Though it can tell us very helpful info! Our styles can help inform things like: how we may respond or react to certain stimuli, and understanding why we to want to respond in such ways. What’s typically important to someone and what activities are motivating. Where do we naturally place our energy, and what may be more draining. Common stressors, and conflict navigation tendencies. DiSC can help us understand, consider, and explore a lot! We “stretch” when we are willing to be aware of our natural inclination (self awareness) and are willing to respond in a way that is most honoring of the environment we are in and the others we are engaging with. It may feel uncomfortable and take extra energy and effort, but it helps us grow and build more effective relationships along the way, too. If you’re in a season of change, remember to pause. Breathe. Go for a walk and make time to be in nature. And then, with a clear head, check in with yourself and challenge yourself to remain open. Listen. Look for the light. Get clear. If you can gain answers to these questions, it can help you have greater clarity: What’s happening? Why is it happening? How are you and others impacted? What’s within your influence? What’s within your control or outside of your control? What’s hard about this? What’s good about this? Who can you talk to about this? (Choose wisely. A mentor, coach, leader. Peers and friends are great too but be sure you’re talking to someone who helps you keep your head up and is honest and able to have access to your heart so they can challenge you if you’re needing challenged.) The Singularity of Hope envisions a future where we create super-intelligent humans by combining AI with our human values and capacities. In this vision, human values retain their superiority. Yes, it's a legitimate fear that AI could start thinking for us and we might rely on it too much. But if we foster enough care for our unique human superpowers, our humanity, we can guide the machine. By integrating AI thoughtfully, we can amplify our intelligence and capabilities while ensuring that our core human values steer the technology. I'm very hopeful that with this approach, we’ll be guiding AI, not the other way around.
