The Bereavement Help Point is an open access community group where anyone who has been bereaved is welcome. These sessions run at various locations across our community and are free to attend, with no need to book ahead. From February, we’ll be launching opening a new Bereavement Help Point in Peasedown St John, in partnership with The Carers' Centre (Bath and North East Somerset) and We Hear You (WHY) , funded by National Lottery Community Fund. These will take place on the 2nd and 4th Tuesday of each month going forwards. For a full list of locations, visit our website. #BereavementSupport #WiltshireCommunity #GriefAndLoss

Ahead of Matthew's run to every Premier League stadium we wanted to highlight why he, you, and local businesses, are coming together for Mission 135. Mission 135's goal is to raise £405,000 across Club 135, Network 135, and Team 135. Of course, the money is incredibly important in maintaining our suicide prevention and bereavement support services, but it's more than just a fundraising campaign. It's about people. It's about the 135. On average, every death by suicide affects 135 people. That equates to more than 760,000 people last year in the UK alone. We believe the best way to support the 135 is by preventing the 1 from taking their life. That's our goal. That's our mission. So thank you for every mile, every cake baked, and every profit shared. Together we can, and will, save lives, support communities, and prevent suicide. Join our mission: https://lnkd.in/eTS8UHqr #Mission135 #SuicidePrevention #SuicideAwareness

Can you spare an hour tomorrow? https://lnkd.in/eKFcVxTD We would love you to join us in welcoming one of our favourite people back to our free fundraising support sessions. Louise Dillon from Armadillo Life and Fred Bennett's Don't Look Down Fund will be joining us to discuss something that many people express to us that they find challenging; Navigating conversations around loss - and this often creates barriers to meaningful engagement with bereaved donors. In the session, Louise will: 1. Share specific language tips and phrases to use (and avoid) when speaking with bereaved donors, ensuring your communication is both respectful and supportive. 2. Demonstrate how to open up conversations around grief and loss 3. Guide you through creating a more empathetic and supportive fundraising communication 4. Offer insights on transforming personal loss into a powerful force for support and change, sharing her own experience in establishing the "Don't Look Down" Fund. If your organisation works with bereaved donors or would like to engage more in this special form of fundraising but are not sure how to go about it sensitively, Louise brings not only practical tips and advice, but also an openness to ask questions and talk around this sensitive topic. Please join us - we hope to see you there. NOTA:BENE Today’s Story When a young family loses a mum, dad, child or sibling the impact is devastating. As someone who works with grief charities shared, one of the lasting effects can be a relentless drive to prepare for every possible future emergency. For many, this becomes a way of coping – writing down plans and trying to anticipate every eventuality in an effort to protect those they love. But this constant preparation can take over, adding another layer of stress to lives already shaped by grief. That’s where something like the NOTA:BENE System can make all the difference. By helping families get everything organised and in place, it offers peace of mind – so they can take a step back, knowing it’s all done, and focus on living life again. NOTA:BENE System - know WHAT exists, WHERE to find it and HOW to access it.

As you celebrate Independence Day, remember that we have a long way to go to achieve and protect the independence and freedom for the citizens in our country. For victims and survivors of domestic violence, independence often feels intangible. For them, independence means many things, such as owning their own bank account, housing, accessible transportation, buying groceries, and much, much more. CAWC does everything we can to make all of these milestones possible for our clients and families working to rid their lives of abuse. Through counseling, life skills classes, in-kind donations, and more, we are an essential support system to help adults and families rebuild their lives. To learn more about CAWC and what we do, visit www.cawc.org. #IndependenceDay #FourthOfJuly #Independence #EndDomesticViolence

We're proud to announce that we've partnered with the childhood bereavement charity Winston's Wish, to offer grief and bereavement support with our Group Life and Group Income Protection products. It's estimated that around 1 in 29 school-age children and young people of 5-16 years old, have experienced the death of a parent of sibling; giving an indication of the prevalence of bereavements among younger age groups. Winston's Wish helps children, teenagers and young adults up to the age of 25 find their feet after their world has been turned upside down by grief. From 1 January 2025, a dedicated helpline becomes available to all young adult employees of #grouplife policyholders and also to dependent children of employees. In addition, our #groupincomeprotection policyholders will also be given access to this valuable service. Read more! 🔗 https://bit.ly/3ZMlmpV #Lifetimepartner
