Hero School: What the Homeless Can Teach Us – Hero School is a charity focused on assisting the homeless and operated by my good friend TIGER TODD. These are young people that attended their “Breakthrough Academy.” Two important lessons here. First, “Don’t blame others – take accountability for your actions.” All day long candidates tell me, “Not my fault.” It’s their company’s fault, boss’s fault, parent’s fault, spouse’s fault, children’s fault…dog’s veterinarian’s fault. Number of candidates that told me they were fired for cause: None. There is exactly one person 100% responsible for your life: YOU. Second, at the one-minute mark in the video the young lady says, “You have to add value first.” The three Rs: Relationships, respect and reciprocity. If only call to ask for free hotel rooms or show tickets, no one will return your call. We must each find a group of people who we respect, with individuals who are both further along and farther back - and invest.
