😎☀️Summer is coming, and we are already planning our youth activities and camps for #OurCommunity ! Need to meet engagement requirements for your company but don’t know where to start? Here are some tips. 👉 Grab a list of non-profits from your local Chamber of Commerce or United Way. Non-profits listed in these types of directories are integral parts of the local business world and the community. It makes for great optics! 👉Find out what times of year are best for engagement as a company. It’s difficult to volunteer in the middle of peak season. (Maybe opt for a donation instead.) 👉Survey your team members with a list of volunteer opportunities to see what they are interested in. 👉Work with your team leaders and HR to see if engagement can be done in-house. Ex: Facility Tours or a Day in the Life Activities. 👉If not, tether to projects or see how your company can contribute to existing programs. Ex: Dothan Housing Authorities summer youth camps or feeding programs. 👉Can’t do any of the above? Share information on opportunities through your company email and incentivize employees who volunteer or contribute locally. 💙Employees involved in the community, wearing company gear or representing your company by name, attract new business opportunities, create brand awareness, strengthen team dynamics, and potentially create a “great place to work” buzz. Companies who give back to their communities by implementing stakeholder capitalism ideals ultimately make a greater economic impact than companies who do not. This can be done on ANY level be it Fortune 500 or local Mom & Pop. Either way, we hope you consider your local housing authority as a recipient of your volunteer and donor spirit. 😁

🌟 Exciting Opportunity for Non-Profit Organizations! 🌟 Are you looking to expand your impact and connect with passionate individuals across different cities? Look no further! Here are some key strategies to bring enthusiastic focal persons on board for your non-profit organization: 1️⃣ Utilize Social Media Platforms: Leverage the power of social media to spread the word about your organization and the opportunity to become a focal person. Engage with communities, share impactful stories, and encourage interested individuals to reach out. 2️⃣ Host Virtual Information Sessions: Organize virtual information sessions to provide insights into your organization's mission, values, and the role of focal persons. This allows potential candidates from different cities to learn more and ask questions from the comfort of their own homes. 3️⃣ Tap into Existing Networks: Reach out to existing supporters, volunteers, and partners to spread the word about the opportunity. They may know passionate individuals in other cities who would be eager to get involved. 4️⃣ Collaborate with Local Groups: Partner with local community groups, universities, and institutions in different cities to identify individuals who are already engaged in social impact initiatives and may be interested in becoming focal persons for your organization. 5️⃣ Offer Flexible Engagement Options: Recognize that individuals in different cities may have varying availability and commitments. Offer flexible engagement options, such as remote volunteering opportunities or part-time roles, to accommodate their schedules. 6️⃣ Provide Training and Support: Once you've onboarded focal persons, provide comprehensive training and ongoing support to empower them in their roles. This could include resources, mentorship, and regular check-ins to ensure they feel equipped and valued. By implementing these strategies, you can attract passionate focal persons from different cities who are eager to contribute to your non-profit organization's mission and drive positive change in their communities. Together, we can make a difference! #NonProfit #CommunityEngagement #SocialImpact 🌍✨

Business & Marketing Student | Founding Member and Head of Partnerships at No Hunger Zone | Aspiring Singer-Songwriter
100% volunteer retention and still counting… During our last team meeting at our Partnership Department, No Hunger Zone, I had a little appreciation session for the partnership coordinators for they are willing to volunteer at the department for more than one batch. I know, it’s just one batch, why does it matter? Let me explain my perspective here. Our Department is the latest department to form in 2024 when media partnerships were in demand between youth organizations, non-profit and NGOs. We, as founders at NHZ, decided that we should initiated long-term partnership with other similar-objectives and goal organizations in our circle to have mutual benefits while expanding our volunteer network in the industry. Since launching the partnership department, we have closed deals with nearly 10 partners, some of which have strong benefits for volunteers at NHZ —— so this is a little briefing on our department. (more to come next time.) So, let’s get back to the topic. Not surprisingly, volunteer retention at my partnership department stays 100%, 6months after launching; that is 2 batches in total. Ofc, don’t I expect the full 100% for always but here’s how I’m brain-storming to keep the volunteer retention rate high in the future. ⭐ It’s not about you vs them; it is you and them, us. ⭐ As we are volunteers, some of the approaches are different from what we apply for the employee. ⭐ Recognizing and Rewarding is always a must. ⭐ Engaging and involving them in an environment you want to be apart of if you were to volunteer as one of them. ⭐ say no to workloads and burnouts. and last but not least, just for fun, nothing is that serious at the end of the night. I always try to find a way for how I can be still productive but also not having to be afraid of being not productive. and I’m still trying… This post is to appreciate my said partnerships coordinator while celebrating our 3rd anniversary for No Hunger Zone. Let’s be real, without any other department prior, we might never ended up with this partnership department. #nohungerzone #volunteering #retention #employeeretention #partnership #nonprofit #ngo

"I’ve come to truly value the power of networking. Through Resource Connect, we've been able to identify needs and match them with the right people. For example, when someone is looking for a specific resource, we can often connect them with someone we've met through the program." -Sarah Mosaico from Just Serve In our newest blog post, explore how REACH aims to Shine a Light on Hidden Heroes with the upcoming Resource Connect 2024, and how previous events have led to more support for the non-profit community: https://lnkd.in/gDVnu6qJ RSVP to Resource Connect: https://lnkd.in/gjjDUkzC #yeglocal #edmonton

Making a difference in the communities you serve 🌟 Looking to give back and make a positive impact in your community? Volunteering is a fantastic way to do just that, both at work and in your personal life. Here’s some of the ways I've found meaningful volunteer opportunities: 🔍 Explore Your Interests: Start by thinking about what causes matter most to you OR what is important to your brand. Is it helping the environment, supporting financial education, or working serving others at the local food bank? Knowing what you’re passionate about and what fits the mission of your organization will help you find opportunities that truly resonate with you. 👥 Reach Out to Local Organizations: Contact local non-profits, schools, or community groups to see if they need extra hands. They often have ongoing projects where you can contribute your skills and time. 🤝 Join Community Events: Keep an eye out for community events or fairs that might have volunteer booths. These events are a great way to meet like-minded people and learn about different organizations. ✨ Create Your Own Opportunities: If you don’t find the right fit for you or your organization, why not start something yourself? Organize a neighborhood clean-up, a food drive, or a fundraiser for a cause you care about. Sometimes the best way to make an impact is by taking the initiative. Volunteering not only helps those in need but also enriches our own lives with new experiences and connections. Have any volunteer stories or tips? Throughout my years working in community events, I’ve noticed a recurring theme: volunteers and peer to peer participants/donors often don’t get the appreciation they deserve. Sure, they might not be cutting million dollar cheques but their time and energy are the lifeblood of any successful event. These folks are your cheerleaders, spreading the word about your good work and connecting with your community. Time is money and the efforts of these community champions are priceless. They are the ones celebrating your successes, advocating for your cause and potentially bringing in your next major donor. Their dedication deserves recognition and appreciation. At Ember 2 Action we’re here to champion your champions and support your team by ensuring every volunteer and every donor big or small feels appreciated and valued. Throughout my career I've seen firsthand the power of these community champions. As a Community Events Development Officer I supported roughly 30 events annually raising $1 million for healthcare initiatives. This success was built on fostering strong relationships with donors, volunteers, and community leaders. In previous roles I collaborated closely with volunteers and staff to execute high-profile events that significantly contributed to our mission. I developed strong relationships with stakeholders and innovative processes to enhance event effectiveness and community engagement. At Ember 2 Action, we leverage this experience to ensure your volunteers and event donors—big and small—are celebrated for their contributions. We believe in the power of community involvement and are committed to creating meaningful connections and fostering a culture of appreciation and support. If you're looking to better recognize and engage your community champions, follow us on our journey and reach out to learn how we can support your mission. Let's make every contribution count and every champion feel valued. Follow us on LinkedIn for updates and insights, and reach out if you have any questions or want to explore how we can work together. #CommunityEvents #Volunteers #Donors #Ember2Action #EventPlanning #NonprofitSupport #ChampionYourChampions #VolunteerAppreciation #NonProfit #CommunityEngagement #Philanthropy

Volunteering is more than just giving time; it's about making a tangible impact on communities and supporting the essential services that many rely on. For agencies like ours, volunteers are the backbone of our operations. They bring diverse skills, energy, and a sense of community that is invaluable to our mission. Volunteers help us expand our reach and capacity, allowing us to serve more people and deliver programs more effectively. Their contributions enable us to provide critical services like food distribution, educational programs, and support for those in need. Without volunteers, many of these initiatives would not be possible. So, how can you get involved and make a difference? Here are a few tips to find volunteer opportunities: Local Community Centers: Reach out to community centers or non-profits in your area. They often have volunteer programs and are eager for help. Social Media: Follow non-profits and community organizations on social media. They frequently post about upcoming events and volunteer needs. Corporate Programs: Many companies have volunteer programs or partnerships with non-profits. Check with your employer to see how you can get involved. Volunteering not only benefits the agencies and the communities they serve but also enriches your own life with new experiences, skills, and connections. Join us in making a difference—every effort counts!
