I facilitate conversations between parents and professionals about the unique needs of complicated twins and multiple birth families and their challenges. Ready to start that conversation? Connect with me.
I always like to hear feedback - but this one really made me so happy. As a self-confessed TAPS nerd, I'm not an expert. What I bring is facts that I've learned about TAPS - and share them with a wider audience. My sole aim is to spark conversations that encourage professionals to think outside the box, and perhaps challenge what their preconceived beliefs are by providing a patient's point of view. I'm not out to start a fight or tell you you're wrong, I just want to give you a different perspective. So once again, guidelines are just that - a basic standard of care. I really encourage you all to look outside that box and take up the challenge to provide more than just that basic standard - include routine MCA doppler and be aware of the other signs of TAPS on ultrasound - even if your country specific guidelines do not recommend it. It has the potential to save lives, and give families the chance to make informed decisions about their care, not only in the short term, but also the long term. Once again, I'm incredibly grateful for the opportunity to appear on the Conversations in Fetal Medicine Podcast, alongside so many of the pioneers in this field. The @apspublications Podcast 🎙️ Don't miss this engaging episode! Authors Seán Roe, Mary K. McGahon, Sharon Parkinson, Etain Tansey & Paul Murphy at Queen's University Belfast discuss an innovative approach to #MedEd. By encouraging #drama students to take on the role of simulated patients, #physiology tutorials for #MedStudents are transformed by taking the clinical case off the page and into live-action scenarios.
