Another great post by Wine International Association. This time about the beautiful art of cooperage. I use a cooperage in scotland for when i’m recasking whisky barrels into smaller 50L sherry firkins. Its great to see the skill that goes into cask/barrel making.

I just saw a new feature on Linkedin that I was not aware of before. They have a #OpenForBusiness feature where you can list your services. A good feature by LinkedIn, let's see what happens with this approach. Being in the wine industry, they had restrictions because there were no specific listings for wine or wine services, so I chose the main topics they will accept. Corporate Events, Bartending, Outsourcing, Catering. Clicking on "View Services" should display the enquiry form. I'm hopeful this feature has the potential to assist businesses in reaching relevant clients.

You hear stories from time to time about the one that got away and slipped through the net. For me, it was the chance to procure an aged cask of The Macallan. As an independent whisky bottler, there are very few that become available. You have to have good connections, be able to act quickly, and they are unbelievably expensive. Hopefully in my lifetime I might see another where the timing is right.
