I recently received the following feedback from a CEO in the Utilities space when presenting a shortlist for the C Suite level position that we were working on: “I’ve got to say Holly, that’s the first time in a number of years that I’ve come into this sort of conversation and haven’t raised my eyebrows when it comes to candidates that have been presented to me. You’ve done an outstanding job and it’s clear that you’ve worked really hard on this, so thank you.” Are you receiving a level of service from your search partner that delivers the right calibre of talent, providing you with the solution to your challenges? If not, it might be time for us to have a conversation....there's a link to my diary below to book in some time. #testimonial #executivesearch #utilitiessearch #utilities #water #gas #energy #leadershiphires #utilitiesleadershiphires https://lnkd.in/eWRtz_6Q

Creating the Workforce for an Oil and Gas Industry in Transition: The energy industry needs to re-skill its workforce as both energy and carbon managers. The "measurement economy" will require new skills, and it's time for new thinking on talent acquisition for the energy industry. We should be very proud of our US energy independence, but now "measured net zero energy" is coming faster than expected. Great report. https://lnkd.in/gVmWB_p2

🌍 **In the Energy Industry, Effort Should Equal Value** ⛽ Working in oil & gas can be demanding and challenging. Yet, it's not just the complexity of the projects or the long hours that matter—it's about **feeling valued**. If you're putting in the work, delivering results, and going above and beyond, you deserve recognition. When that doesn’t happen, it’s not a reflection of your worth—it’s a sign to reflect on your next steps. 🌟 **Key lessons I’ve learned:** 1. Value yourself, even if others don't. 2. Stay focused on the skills and experience you’re gaining. 3. Your talent will always find a place where it's appreciated. 💡 The energy industry thrives because of hard-working, skilled professionals. Don’t let any environment make you forget that. Sometimes, the best move is finding where your value is truly recognized. #CareerGrowth #OilAndGas #ProfessionalDevelopment #KnowYourWorth

In the oil and gas industry, we must critically ask ourselves: “What are we producing for future generations?”. The answer extends beyond energy production; it encompasses stability, sustainability, and long-term opportunities for the families of tomorrow. As we develop equipments and solutions today, we are not just meeting current demands—we are building a foundation. Our innovations in downhole tools, and Inteligent Completion technologies must do more than push technology boundaries. They must be part of a responsible, forward-thinking approach that balances technological developments with social responsibilities. This means creating solutions that bring true progress, not simply dazzling advancements that blind us with the lights of technology. The tools and equipment we produce should drive sustainable developments and allow for the responsible use of our technology resources. Our focus must be on quality, efficiency, reliability, and reduced environmental impact—innovations that deliver long-term value for the generations that will inherit this industry. By focusing on smart, purposeful designs that prioritize safety, environmental protection, and resource longevity, we can ensure that our equipment enables progress without sacrificing the well-being of future families. The goal is not just technological advancement but creating a pathway to a sustainable future that honors our responsibility to the next generation. Today, we have the momentum to drive change. It’s crucial that we use our technology resources wisely, because ultimately, we are tasked with developing the tools that will fuel progress. The choices we make today will define the legacy we leave behind.

How many people does it take to energize world? Hard to say, but the U.S. oil and gas industry employed 948,943 professionals in 2022. That’s according to the Texas Independent Producers & Royalty Owners Association’s (TIPRO) latest State of Energy Report, which noted that this figure represented a net increase of 39,721 direct jobs compared to 2021, subject to revisions. There were 358,776 direct U.S. upstream sector jobs in 2022, which marked a net increase of 32,627 jobs compared to 2021, the report outlined. I'm betting that's a conservative estimate - but even if so - a significate number to be sure. What I know is that the industry has been good to me and my family and I am proud to be a part of the remarkable team that helps meet the world's energy needs. Hey Amber Gardner, Andrew Ortiz, and Michael Jungnickel - remember having to move this mosaic across the campus? Good times... #oilgas #energystrong

🚀 Navigating the Oil and Gas Industry: A Modern Odyssey 🛢️ Every generation brings fresh perspectives, new ideas, and a dash of excitement to the oil and gas industry. The latest wave of talent is no different, brimming with innovation and a drive to push boundaries. But as we welcome these bright minds, there's an old nemesis we all have to contend with: paperwork. 📄🗂️ Picture this: the equipment is top-notch, tools are shining and ready for action, and yet... we’re stuck waiting for a piece of paper. A single sheet. It's almost like we’re on a grand adventure, but our ship is tethered to the dock because someone misplaced the map. 🏴☠️ We've all been there—moments when the bureaucracy seems more like a mountain than a molehill. And while it’s designed to ensure safety and compliance, sometimes it feels more like an elaborate game of hide-and-seek with our productivity. Is it really helping us, or just creating more hoops to jump through? Just the other day, we had all the tools and manpower ready to tackle a project, but guess what? The paperwork was lost in the shuffle. So, what did we do? We took a different route, of course! Adaptability is key, but it makes you wonder if all this bureaucracy is really adding value or just creating more work. 🤔 The oil and gas industry thrives on efficiency and innovation. So let's use our collective ingenuity not just in the field, but also in streamlining the processes that keep us from getting there. Here's to the new generation—let’s cut through the red tape and keep moving forward! 🚀 #OilAndGas #Innovation #Efficiency #NewGeneration #BureaucracyBlues #Industry

Many companies in the oil and gas industry are attempting to switch to sustainable projects and practices. That trend is particularly important now for a variety of reasons. One alarming result has been that the World Petroleum Council reports that 57% of students and young professionals in oil and gas production worry that the transition to greener energy is making their work obsolete. As a result, they aren't planning long-term careers in the industry. That should send alarm bells off in management.

🌏 I recruit the best Development and Delivery professionals for the renewable energy sector in Australia.
Competition for renewable energy sector professionals in development and delivery is getting hotter and hotter. We're seeing significant money flowing into the sector and a huge number of developments being approved. It feels like every other week there is a record breaking project being green lit. The talent pool is growing but it's growing at a much slower rate than the demand. If you're not thoughtful about your hiring strategy you're going to get left behind. It's not as simple as throwing up an advert. How many responses did you get last time you did that? Single digits probably. You need to actively engage the market in a way that will interest and attract the right people, which, isn't easy. It requires nuance, effort and time. And once you find the person who is the right fit, you need to be ready to move quickly. Failing to map out your recruitment campaign in detail (including your hiring process) will lead to disappointment. The time spent up front getting it right will pay off.
