AccendoWave - A #Pain Data Company A review from Trusted Source found that some medical professionals were more likely to dismiss chronic #pain in #women than in men. In their review of 77 articles, the researchers found that some medical professionals were more likely to view men as strong and stoic when dealing with #pain. This belief can lead to men not seeking help when they need to in order to avoid looking “weak.” On the other hand, the review noted that medical professionals were more likely to view women with chronic pain as emotional, hysterical, or sensitive. They were also more likely to consider women time-consuming or frustrating. Sex and gender biases can cause people to feel ashamed or silenced when it comes to their health conditions. This can mean that a person will avoid seeing their doctor, leading to delays in treatment. A Top 4 Health Equity Solution and Top 15 Remote Monitoring Company, AccendoWave, benchmarks objective #brain wave pain data (specialty, gender, age) and has nine pain #databases: Emergency Department, Maternal Health, Oncology, MSK, Medical Surgical, ICU, #Women , Adults, Seniors to eliminate #bias, improve outcomes and reduce health care costs. If desired, AccendoWave can also create customized pain databases for partners that can be accessed on the Datavant platform. https://lnkd.in/gKXxKtNg

Athenahealth's annual Physician Sentiment Survey confirmed that information overburden is not only unhelpful to providers, but a growing source of burnout. That's why one of the critical end products of a RoundTable engagement is to provide outputs with meaning. "Nearly all physicians (94%) agree that getting the right clinical data at the right time is very important. But most physicians (80%) don’t believe that more clinical data is always the answer to achieving higher-quality care. The majority are currently so overburdened by information that it raises their stress levels (63%), and for many, this information overload is a growing cause of their regular burnout (30% vs. 24% in 2022)." https://lnkd.in/ejSdFV45

For the third consecutive year, workforce and personnel challenges are the top-ranked issues keeping hospital CEOs up at night, according to a new survey by the American College of Healthcare Executives. One of the biggest drivers of ongoing workforce challenges is provider burnout, an issue that is increasingly impacting oncologists. Medscape's 2024 Physician Burnout and Depression Report describes just how serious this problem is: In 2013, oncology was #19 out of 25 specialities in severity of burnout. In 2024, it has rocketed up to #2. While this is a startling trend, there is evidence of a better way. In this edition of the Reimagine Care Chronicles, Dr. Pallav Mehta writes about the ways to address oncologist burnout and the impact he's seeing Reimagine Care have on physician wellbeing and satisfaction across the country. "For the oncologists we work with, over 85% of the calls, messages, emails, and texts that were previously landing on their plates each day are being resolved by our clinical team, equating to hours per week of time that is now able to be spent in other ways such as spending more time with their families, getting home for dinner and bedtime with their kids, and to not getting woken up in the middle of the night with patient questions or concerns," writes Dr. Mehta. Did you know that the gender of your doctor might influence your health outcomes? Research published in the Annals of Internal Medicine shows that patients treated by female physicians have lower mortality and readmission rates compared to those treated by male physicians. The study suggests that the differences in practice styles between female and male doctors significantly impact patient health. Experts recommend that male physicians reflect on these findings and consider ways to improve their practice. Why Female Doctors Excel: • Patient-Centered Approach: Female doctors often spend more time listening to patients and addressing their concerns. • Holistic Care: They are more likely to consider the overall well-being of the patient, leading to better outcomes. • Attention to Detail: Female physicians often have a meticulous approach to diagnosing and treating conditions. As we strive for better healthcare, acknowledging and learning from these differences can lead to improved patient outcomes for everyone. #HolisticHealth #HealthyLiving #HealthTips #HealthHero #AskDrNandi #WomenInMedicine #PatientCare
