Doctors response to any product that "only takes an extra 30 seconds of clinician time per visit". Clinical Decision Support is a great example of this. Catching misdiagnosis is great, and it isn't enough. Good Clinical Decision Support need to actually improve physician productivity in order to get meaningful adoption. If you increase diagnostic accuracy by 50% (and that’s an incredibly high number) on the less than 1% of cases that are in question, but you do that at the cost of increasing clinician effort on the other 99 out of 100 visits by just 1%, you lose. Don't get over-focused on those numbers. Because it’s not so much a true quantitate phenomenon, as it is a psychological one. Physicians are trained and incentivized around efficiency. If they *feel* like something slows them down, they'll avoid it whenever possible. And with the AMA forecasting that the US will be short 124,000 physicians within the next decade, it's hard to even argue with that avoidance. #clinicalworkflow #product #healthcare #clinicaldecisionsupport #digitalhealth

This article gets us in the right direction, what is still missing beyond ratings is the acuity scale of the patients being treated. A super sub specialist may have more complicated cases and more seriously ill patients. We need to account for these variables when discussing outcomes...IMHO
