Today we announced the launch of the Cost of Bills Index (COBI), a new tool that leverages doxo's unique, aggregate, and anonymized bill pay data to provide a standard comparison index for the most fundamental expenses that comprise the cost of living. Alongside the launch, we released our 2024 Cost of Bills Index Report (as covered by Business Insider below) which reveals how much it costs to live in one area as compared to another, offering a comprehensive look into the Bill Pay Economy™ at the state, county and city level. Among other things, the report found that while the average American now spends nearly $2,050 per month on household bills, San Jose, CA is the most expensive city at $3,504 per month, and Detroit, MI is the most affordable at $1,642 per month.
