Below is a video of the Perimeter Truss Reflector (PTR) I designed and built during my Summer internship at Tendeg LLC. In the video, Seth Hill, Kenzo Neff, and myself deploy and stow the PTR. If you would like to see more details on the project, please see my previous post!

I made a video tour of the HolcimUS Ste. Genevieve cement plant. During the second week of my internship, we spent the entire week touring the facility. You might have seen my post about it at the time. Ste. Genevieve is built on such a grand scale that it’s truly a spectacle to witness. I was naturally drawn to capturing the dramatic sights. By the end of the week, I had collected something like 700 pictures and videos. As someone who enjoys my little creative projects now and then, it seemed only natural to put it all together into a video. I’ve been given permission to share my work with all of you. I hope you enjoy watching it as much as I enjoyed making it.

Our new BASIC internship started this month. Six former unemployed young people who came into our program learning so much in the next 12 months.
We teach our interns many different skills and life lessons. Today we talked in artistry skills training about the design rule of the golden ratio. We looked at our bodies and into nature to find it. How amazing to discover it.

Summer Recap: Graphic Intern at the Methodology and Evaluation Research Core Facility 📊
Another highlight of my summer was working at the MERC Facility! My main goal was to transfer and update their website to the new system at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln. 💻
For the website, I had the pleasure of:
1. Updating graphics to fit the brand aesthetic and goals.
2. Making new graphics to visualize MERC's workflow and services.
2. Edited videos of training and conference presentation samples.
3. Gathering information about full-time team members to add more personality to their bio pages.
Although the new website is not live yet, I'll share it here when it is!
In addition to updating their website, I also:
1. Updated poster boards for conferences (pictured below).
2. Created fun graphics for use around the office.
3. Posted news updates to Instagram and LinkedIn.
I owe a special thanks to Nova Gocchi Carrasco who oversaw me in this internship position. I appreciated her guidance over the summer and will miss working with her and the entire MERC team! Not only did this internship allow me to independently explore and develop new design skills in Adobe Illustrator and After Effects, but I also learned more about data analytics and how design can be used to share key findings!

I work with my dad on construction and I set up cabinets, adding shelf pins, white caps, bumper pads, and setting up crowns and calking them. I wish to own my own installation company and have employees work under me.

The link above is the site that I posted at the beginning of my internship to show everyone the ins and outs of what I do. 2 of the points that I chose from this site are about "Measuring for accuracy" and "Planning, scheduling and communication” back then.
The site emphasizes the importance of measuring for accuracy and planning, scheduling, and communication in the construction process. Accuracy is crucial as it ensures that cabinets and shelves fit within their designated spaces. Planning, scheduling, and communication are also crucial as mistakes can lead to wasted time and effort. For instance, if cabinets and shelves are incorrectly chosen, the process can be time-consuming and wasteful, resulting in wasted time and effort. Therefore, it is essential to prioritize these aspects in the construction process. #alpineinternships#mountainlandcteAlpine School District
Believe it or not, but about 95% of this video can be classified as work-related!
My 3-month internship at CuttingRoom ended last Friday, and I’m beyond grateful to have worked in this start-up environment. I grew professionally, and there were so many opportunities to just have fun while doing the work.
Being partnered with Jenny, a Norwegian intern, is one of the main reasons this experience was as valuable as it was. Not only did I make a friend, but we’ve both learned much about good and clear communication to be on the same page. Together, we worked on an issue that CuttingRoom was facing: the lack of easily accessible information on the strengths of using CuttingRoom and how to use it. We believed this was an obstacle in the company’s aim to move away from sales-driven growth and toward product-led growth.
Although we struggled a bit to find our feet at first, we ended up creating nearly 40 explainer videos. These videos will be used to improve the user experience, and to show decision-makers the strengths of CuttingRoom. Jenny and I had complete responsibility for this project, so we were involved in the littlest details of planning and creating the videos, but always had to keep the big picture in mind — how would all these videos fit together and how would it contribute to CuttingRoom?
My time at CuttingRoom has been super enriching. It’s shown me that I can do anything when I take the time to learn. Something I’ve really appreciated about Norwegian business culture is the high trust and lack of informal hierarchy — what I did mattered and what I said mattered. A massive thanks to Helge for being our mentor, and teaching us a lot about video editing. I had a great time working with you and the rest of the guys (Vidar, Glenn, and Tor Erik).
We made this fun video about our experience as interns at CuttingRoom. We hope you enjoy it, especially the song we created through an AI prompt 😂
(Side note: there was a pool competition between Jenny and I. She has admitted defeat… but in reality, if we hadn’t made the rule to discount any games where someone (aka me) lost by pocketing the white ball after the black ball, she would’ve been way ahead of me 😂)
Making a Difference - It’s what I do!
