Mavi once again named a global climate leader! Mavi becomes the first and only Turkish apparel company to achieve double A Rating for Climate Change and Water Security by CDP.   Mavi announced today that it has earned a rating of A in both the Climate Change and Water Security programs of CDP, the world’s foremost environmental disclosure platform, and became the first and only Turkish apparel company to make the CDP’s Global A list. Building upon last year’s recognition as a global climate leader with its Climate Change reporting, Mavi maintained this successful performance, while improving its score to A in the Water Security Program this year. Mavi also earned a score of B in the Forests program, outperforming the industry average.   Only 2% of the 21 thousand companies worldwide that respond to CDP, which aims to change how businesses operate to mitigate the impacts of climate change, made the Global A Lists in 2023. #AllBlue #CDPAList

Nearly two years have passed since the publication of this article, and yet many companies are still grappling with the same issues around carbon neutrality and offsets. The article highlights the gap between real action and tokenism, emphasizing that to truly fight climate change, we need to take action today. It's clear that more needs to be done. Companies must move beyond long-term claims and invest in tangible, impactful actions now. This includes improving energy efficiency in buildings, electrifying transportation, and advocating for robust climate legislation. The new G20 Environment and Climate Declaration acknowledges the G20’s responsibility for the majority of greenhouse gas emissions, resource use and waste generation. It also reaffirms their commitment to doing something about the resulting environmental challenges. The key now – as it is for every nation, every business and every investor – is to take these commitments and turn them into rapid and concrete action. G20 nations must dramatically increase financing for and investment in sustainable solutions. Decarbonize their economies at a far faster rate. Protect and restore their lands and nature, including by working with indigenous peoples. Tackle pollution of the air, land and water – starting with helping to deliver a strong instrument to end plastic pollution.
