Today, over 750 of our colleagues, including our Global Head of Quality and Pharmacovigilance, Krishna Venkatesh; our Chief Digital and Information Officer, Phani Mitra B; CEO of our CRDMO arm, Akhil Ravi; our CHRO, Archana Bhaskar and colleagues across business units came together to participate in the NMDC Hyderabad Marathon. Our participating colleagues were sponsored by our organisation in the 42 km, 21 km and 10 km categories. The run-up to the marathon saw over a month of training, tracking progress, sharing fitness journeys, fitness campaigns, and practice runs. As colleagues crossed the finish line one by one today, sharing their total run time with each other, and clicking pictures, it was a true celebration of the joy of running, fitness and camaraderie. With our India business team having just created a Guinness World Record for the largest brochure mosaic (logo) installation to create awareness of 'glycemic happiness', our Head of India Business, Sandeep Khandelwal, explains the context of the event. In India, approximately 42% of patients living with diabetes have high distress levels. Recent literature has reiterated the importance of happiness in improving health outcomes among people with diabetes. Our teams therefore worked with specialists on the concept of "glycemic happiness" and a glycemic happiness scale to measure it. It has been shared with over 7,500 healthcare professionals and benefited over 30,000 patients, with 88% specialists endorsing the importance of the glycemic happiness scale. The Guinness Record is not a one-time event for us, but our way of turning the spotlight on type 2 diabetes, the importance of its management through standard of care drugs accompanied by attention to psycho-social factors such as like glycemic happiness. #GoodHealthCantWait #GlycemicHappiness #WeAreDrReddys #Beyond100 #SDG3 (good health and well-being)

Pleased to share that our India business team has set a new Guinness World Record for the largest brochure mosaic (logo) installation standing at 162 square metres. This effort was undertaken by the team to shine a spotlight on a concept called "glycemic happiness" among people living with Type 2 diabetes. The installation is made up of feedback received from HCPs on glycemic happiness measurement.   India is often referred to as the diabetes capital of the world. Our efforts should be towards transforming India into a diabetes 'care' capital of the world. Attention to psycho-social factors has become important for a holistic approach to management of diabetes mellitus. Our team collaborated with endocrinologists and diabetologists on this concept of 'glycemic happiness'. Our aim is to create awareness among patients, healthcare professionals and caregivers about the importance of psycho-social wellbeing in the management of diabetes. Our team also created the 'Glycemic Happiness Scale' as an endeavour to measure 'glycemic happiness'. This was shared with over 7,500 HCPs, and has benefited over 30,000 patients. We are happy to share that an overwhelming majority of the HCPs who received the scale agreed that it was a useful initiative. In his article in the Independence Day special edition of the India Today magazine, our Chairman Satish Reddy discusses the roadmap of the Indian pharma industry. For Indian pharma to grow from its approximately $50 billion worth today to around $130 billion by 2030, and perhaps $400 billion by 2047, the key would be R&D, innovation, sustainability, upskilling and reskilling. In short, its journey would have to move the needle from ‘Make in India’ (as a cost-based manufacturing powerhouse) to ‘Discover and Make in India for the World’ (becoming a value-based innovation powerhouse). Satish also describes innovation broadly – “Innovation is more a mindset; it can come in many forms, including innovation for better access, new categories, new ways of doing business, deploying artificial intelligence and other technologies as enablers, and more.
