Henkel expects to save almost over half a billion dollars from cost savings efforts in supply chain. Is supply chain ideal dream or actual practice?! Many of us agree that the idea of supply chains is essentially based on an ideal view of the cooperation of organizations and supply chain partners, however, the ideal view can be transformed into reality and tangible practice that makes the chain more powerful and  successful. Examples of these chains include This is what was published in his wonderful academic article Khanuja, A. and Jain, R.K.,( 2021): Firms collaborate with their partners and share the resources to form an extended organization, making the entire supply chain more capable and flexible. The success of the supply chain can be realized when all partners work for the benefits of extended organizations rather than fulfil their individual needs. Therefore, to achieve flexibility in practice, and for improving performance,   integration is a must. One practical example: Procter & Gamble (P&G) is a consumer goods company that has implemented a comprehensive supply chain integration strategy. The company works closely with its suppliers to improve communication, reduce costs, and increase efficiency. P&G's supply chain integration includes: *Collaborative planning: P&G works closely with its suppliers to plan production and delivery schedules, ensuring that products are delivered on time and in the right quantities. *Shared data: P&G and its suppliers share data on inventory levels, production schedules, and other supply chain metrics to improve visibility and collaboration. *Supplier-managed inventory: P&G's suppliers manage inventory levels and replenish stock as needed, reducing the need for P&G to hold inventory. *Supply chain visibility: P&G uses technology to provide real-time visibility into its supply chain, allowing it to track products and identify potential issues before they occur.
