A guy named Manav started cleaning his home. Just a few minutes into the task, the doorbell rings. Manav attends to the guest, only to return to cleaning later. However, every few hours, another guest arrives, interrupting Manav's cleaning. By day's end, Manav is exhausted, and the house remains unclean. Now, consider Manav's experience as an allegory for your digestive system (including liver, stomach, and bladder). The frequent guests represent the food you consume every couple of hours. Your digestive system is like Manav, struggling to complete its task. It's halfway through digesting one meal when you introduce another, disrupting the process. This is known as 'Adhyasna' in Ayurveda – eating before fully digesting the previous meal. Adhyasna can lead to various health issues, including: - Hormonal imbalance - Indigestion - Decreased metabolism Your digestive system requires at least 3 to 4 hours to digest a normal meal. So don't fall for the 'Eat small proportions after every couple of hours' Eat proper meals and ensure a 3-4 hour gap between meals to maintain proper digestion. Give your digestive system the break it needs. #Ayurved #dietandlifestyle
